Yeah, I know we signed him to a 5 year deal in 2007, but this guy has clearly outplayed his contract. Signing Rat to a new, lucrative deal would send a message to every Cowboy player; if you perform, you get paid.

The message was already sent when Ratliff, Ware, Romo, and Barber got extensions for their performance. I understand your excitement for his play cause Im just as excited but do you realize what type of fire storm you would be starting if you kept doing that with players? Every players agent would be knocking on Jerrys door demanding that their clients get extensions cause they out played their contracts. Its not good business man. Rat signed his contract that his party and the Cowboys thought was fair so lets play that out before we throw more money at a player.

I can't dispute that but I think we can all agree Ratliff is playing at a different level right now from EVERYBODY on defense...yes even Ware

If he is unhappy then I think we should give him whatever he wants but I mean if he is fine where he is why waste cap space that we're going to need to sign other players with like MILES AUSTIN or GS.
