Twitter: Jerry: Cowboys fans shouldn't worry. Dez isn't going anywhere

thats just the thing though, dez has said he'll be highly upset if we franchise him. i think if you dont get a deal done this year and franchise him its gonna burn a bridge.

his saying that is a negotiation ploy, as is Jerry reminding the fans that we have the tag option.

What's the alternative?

If he doesn't want to get franchised, he needs to do his part to get a long term contract done.

This is actually news to some people?

I figured by now that this would just be common knowledge.

True, however I hope they do not have to place the tag on him to keep him. I know Dez has said he does not want the franchise tag so hopefully a deal can get worked out so that the Cowboys are not forced to place the tag on him

Why bring this up right after clinching the division title. Are we trying to piss him off or?

Wth is the deal with these contracts, I feel like both are trying to break the bank... I'm on the verge of saying let muarry walk... Dez is younger, a loud vocal leader, huge fan fav.

Why say that now?

Yup, great timing, Jerry. Nothing like bringing up Dez's contract (or lack of) and throwing the franchise tag out there, given that he said he would be upset with the franchise tag. What the heck is this guy thinking?

Cause he knows one way or another he will re-sign Dez.

And? Again, why bring it up in the media if it's a given? Why the F are we talking about contract negotiations right before the playoffs?! Just when I think Jerry may be on the road to recovery, he says stuff like this and makes me realize this man will never get a clue.

You think he just called up a reporter and made the statement? Or was asked the question and simply answered?

You don't "simply answer" loaded questions like this. You use your brain and experience with the media and realize there is a time and place for comments like this and this wasn't one of them.
