This should be fun.
You don't have a first for a Mahomes, no heir apparent like Romo, no obvious trades opening up for an Alex Smith, and no Cousins on the FA line this year. This is logical until one of these scenarios presents itself.

I understand the logic but all logic goes out the window at 100 million dollars and I think Dak's agent will look for a better deal. It could get very ugly in Dallas.

still no reason to extend him yet when he is here basically cheap for another season.
2020 we will have a very early 1st that can be used for the next Franchise QB....well if we dont trade it for another WR.
Objectively speaking, if there ever was a time to hold out, itd be when you're making 500,000$ (probably the lowest paid 1st or 2nd string qb in the league) on the last year of your deal when you have 26+ (probably ends around 30) wins in 3 years for a team with no other options at QB. Dak would be cuckoo to be content with that deal. What if next year is worse? He'll lose any leverage he has left.
This should be fun.
