Jerry: Dak is going to get extended

I take whatever Jones says with a grain of salt. That being said, why would you make such a ridiculous statement before his rookie contract is up?
Because they traded our number 1 pick, we would either have to get a 2nd rounder at the earliest or trade the farm to move up next season to draft a QB.
I could see them doing either.
Or, wait until the year after and we have a good back up in Prescott.

You don't have a first for a Mahomes, no heir apparent like Romo, no obvious trades opening up for an Alex Smith, and no Cousins on the FA line this year. This is logical until one of these scenarios presents itself.

I understand the logic but all logic goes out the window at 100 million dollars and I think Dak's agent will look for a better deal. It could get very ugly in Dallas.

If he were a horse and I was a rancher, I'd have him put down.
Seriously, that is almost my last straw. I don't care if Dak stays or goes, there's no need for another stupid statement.

Initially I thought this was from The Onion Sports section. Jerry is committed, I mean should be.

This should be fun.

This is why Jones is the biggest idiot in football. He simply has NO place being the GM of the team and the biggest blind fan. He is the biggest Cowboys homer on the planet and he has to evaluate the players and coaches?

Is there anyone that still doesnt understand why this team is going nowhere?

I do agree it'll be difficult to convince him to accept a deal not based on past success, but at the moment it is the best place to put that money. Imagine starting Chase Daniels opening day. Or CJ Beathard.

still no reason to extend him yet when he is here basically cheap for another season.

2020 we will have a very early 1st that can be used for the next Franchise QB....well if we dont trade it for another WR.

I don’t want to it to seem as I’m wishing ill will on anyone but I can’t wait for Jerry to get old enough where he just has to sit his a** down somewhere.

Objectively speaking, if there ever was a time to hold out, itd be when you're making 500,000$ (probably the lowest paid 1st or 2nd string qb in the league) on the last year of your deal when you have 26+ (probably ends around 30) wins in 3 years for a team with no other options at QB. Dak would be cuckoo to be content with that deal. What if next year is worse? He'll lose any leverage he has left.

He can feel free to sit out while we stink it up with Cooper Rush and get a Top 3 Pick in 2020 drafting his replacement.

Who said it couldn't get any worse? Jerry just keeps crippling this team because his ego gets in the way of his brain, most are saying Dak is mediocre to poor, JG is a bad HC so what does Jerry do, try and prove all are wrong and he is right. Does this sound like old mentally ill Al Davis , Jerry's really believes he is a football god and no one will tell him any different. I wouldn't put it past him to extend JG, what HC candidate would want to work with Jerry unless it's another yes man. Man to be Dak's agent right now, you have one of the worse QB's in the league who should be begging for a back up job but the owner can't get out of his way and says he's going to be paid and extended, yes Jerry at his finest.

If Jerry is serious this means the coaching staff will be replaced at year end. Even Jerry has to be able to see that if Dak is the future it has to be with a different coaching staff. The question is will his ego allow him to hire the right guy.
