To be fair, Jerry is speaking for himself. Also it’s a pretty ambiguous statement... I don’t think there’s a person alive who would take a soon to be 26 year old Dak over the legion of much younger and higher ceiling players available in the draft.
Even at his best, Dak is not a “#1 pick” kind of player. Teams are prone to take high risk high reward players with the understanding that this is a rare chance to get a generational type of player. You don’t draft safe there.

Despite what the money is on the contract, Im betting that Dak comes out every week, every day and gives you 100 percent.
May not be the 100 percent that I expect, the level I expect for that money, but Dak will not turn it off once he gets payed.
That Im confident of, and willing to bet on.

Jerry will never turn it off, not until he takes his last breath, and even then I bet he will be convincing angels to buy feather softner.
Jerry talks, and endorses so that the fan base buys into the notion, it alleviates the media tension.
He may be a lot of things, but Jerry is first and foremost one of the greatest salesman to ever walk this earth.

Is this like a yankee swap kind of draft? You can either draft a player from college or pick one from another team still on a rookie deal. I’m not sure why you would draft a player you already had but I get the sentiment.
