Jerry facetimed with Matthew Golden's mom

? Plenty of people have him going in the first.
Which is a product of the mockingbird sports media. All they are doing is regurgitating what the previous person floated out there, so now the hype train is running full steam ahead. He had one decent season. Now the kid is already crowned.

Who really should be referred to as TetairoaMcMillan because the man can't separate.
Gold.

I like Golden well enough, but he's not a top 12 pick. Hope Seattle/Pittsburgh are willing to come up. Feel those are your only two shots. Otherwise you are sitting there with probably one low 1R graded edge left and a lot of 2R graded maybes.

LOL so the people that criticize an organization that hasn’t been to a NFC Title game in almost 30 years are stupid idiots but the guys acting like they are a premier franchise who will contend every year are the smart ones.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.
No, the people that **** on everything Cowboys.

Be careful I remember the same information came out with another Texas player last draft. People thought were taking Jonathan Brooks early.
They weren't taking Brooks in the first round, especially with the ACL tear, that was never the information. There was talk about taking him in the 2nd, even trading up to do so but Carolina beat us to the punch trading up to 46 and taking him.

That said if he slid to our 2nd round pick (56), I am pretty sure he would have been that selection.

As far as this pick goes, not my first choice, but if we do take him, I hope we trade down a little first.

I’d prefer they take the Rams approach. They don’t even meet with players, including 0 top 30 visits. Takes all the bias out of, just let the tape speak for itself. Also not difficult to make a few phone calls to figure out what kind of person a prospect is.

But you’re right, that wouldn’t be a good story for Jerry to sell to the media
That's an interesting approach I wasn't aware of that. Their drafting has been insane so maybe there is something to that.

Everyone loves Brugler, so we’ll go with him.

Link from Blogging the Boys which is giving you info. from The Beast.

13 first round grades only from Dane. So poor he added some round 1/2 nonsense form more content.

Of course there are the Yahoo Sports’ of the world that included 3 receivers and I think ESPN had one 1st round grade for a WR and it was Luther Burden.
Thanks for taking the time to share that.

I don’t often agree with Todd McShay but he and I are of the same opinion.

Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

“Do not think of Golden as just a speedster. He’s fast, yes—the fastest receiver at this year’s scouting combine. But he’s also a crisp route runner with an elite stop-start ability. Give him an opening, and he’s gone. I’ve compared him to Tyreek Hill before, and it’s important to note that he’s the onlyplayer in the draft who can move like that.
The consensus big board has Golden as the 23rd-best player in the draft and the WR3 overall after Tetairoa McMillan and Luther Burden III. But I have Golden as my top-ranked wideout because I see him quickly establishing himself as a no. 2 as a rookie, with the ability to become a true no. 1 with some development. He’s also in my top 20.”

I think Jerry pulled a Forest Gump on Golden , met his Mom, then told him " your momma must really want you to be a cowboy son." Lol... :muttley:

As much as I want Golden's speed and add to that in the 2nd round with TreVeyon Henderson, I just can't take a #2 WR with the 12th pick. I don’t mean a #2 because CeeDee Lamb is here. I mean the ceiling is a 2. An elite 2 but still a 2. We must trade down a little and get another day 2 pick.

So that's where I'm at. Hold on to the 12th pick and see if anyone falls in your lap (Jeanty, Membou, Campbell). If not plan B is a trade down for Golden. Somewhere in the mid to late teens. If forced to make a pick at 12 I abort my mission for offensive juice and remain loyal to BPA by selecting the only blue chip LT prospect in this draft but with a medical tag in Josh Simmons.

Either way just say no to Tetairoa McMillan. Who really should be referred to as TetairoaMcMillan because the man can't separate.
I don’t see his ceiling as a 2 at all.

Quite the opposite in fact.

While he can be considered a ‘traits pick’ to some degree, he also shows skills as a route runner.

Pair Golden’s natural ability and a good attitude with the coach that Cooper Kupp credits for his development and it feels like a winning combination to me.

I don't like the idea of Golden at 12.

I hope he turns out to be a stud if we do pick him.
