Seems rushed, but what the hay do we know,, Gallup knows when he will be ready.
If he knows that he feels right nobody can tell him different, everyone else's opinion is just that, even the DRs, just an opinion.
Let Gallup be the judge, he already is.

Nope, but on other teams the general manager can and has.

Therin lies the real issue. Hint: It's not the "announcement" part of this.
Gallup not being on the pup means that other teams now have to game plan against him, even if we hold him back.

Not a good move imo. Give that man's knee time to heal.

Of you and Jerry, who knows all the facts and who knows none of them when it pertains to Gallup’s health? Maybe the one with all the facts is in a better position to know what the best move is!

On no other team does the owner announce who is playing and who is not.

Weird how ya'll always complain about the Owner doing this and the owner doing that. Until ya'll wanna complain about him being the GM.

Jerry Jones isn't just the owner of the Cowboys, he's also the GM and President. And Last i checked many GM's do speak about whether players will go to IR, or PUP. Since as the GM They are the ones responsible for making the personal moves. Also he's not even announcing who is playing. He's simply stating that they won't put him on PUP to start the season, which implies they feel he will be ready to go by week 3 or week 4 for at least some type of action.

But hey to each his own. Jerry hate needs no reason.

so if one can do it ,another cant? he may miss 2-3 games but not 6+

i believe they know 100 times more than fans sitting at home how his progress is going, like 24-7 rehab updates from trainers and doctors.. Im 52 had acl surgery at 48 and at 6 months i was back doing what got me hurt but held back a lot.. at 9 months full go and didnt have access to rehab doctors, facilities, or age on my side but i was back riding a snowboard, wakeboard and surf board at 6 months and felt pretty strong..like i said didn't go back to being a daredevil until 9 months but this dudes a professional young athlete with access to the best rehab money can buy. I still wear a donjoy sports brace when doing flips and bigger tricks but zero sets backs since 18.

fans stop being internet doctors and rehab specialist, you have not got one clue how his rehabs going nor get an opinion because well you know less than squat.
I trust the team so much in matters like this too

I know you don't come back from an ACL in 6 months. Who's had an ACL injury Jerry or me? Just cause I don't own the team don't mean I don't know about injuries. Check yourself, grow up and stop blindly believing what a public figure is saying...think for yourself, young man.

They are not putting him on PUP, which means they are expecting him back prior to week four. So, if Gallup says he could be back before week 4 and the doctors confirm that, then you make the statement Jerry just made.
The doctors are expecting it.

This is great news and it makes perfect sense. Putting Gallup on PUP when he could be available as soon as week two would be a waste. I have a feeling he will be medically cleared soon and then it will be a matter of getting him back into football shape and then getting him some practice reps. We might see him in uniform by week three if this is the case.
