Jerry: "I'm Not Looking at Free Agency to Fill Voids"

So the same game-plan as last summer. We all know how well that worked out for us..

Look, just because their choice of words happen to make you all hang on them far too literally and rad too much into it,,,

. What I took from Jerry's statements is this he confuses himself ,he didn't choose the proper words, because what he meant was, because this question was free agency before the draft, were they going to be aggressive and he didn't feel they had large enough voids from the starter group to be desperate and getting into a bidding war with the Tier 1 early free agent frenzy.. which doesn't always work out well for teams, they don't feel the need to do that it doesn't mean they will do it, he's just saying they weren't entering FA period early on with desperation.

it doesn't mean they won't be in play for a big name free agent. whether it's earlier one that's left after the first 2+ weeks, the tier two players still have a lot of production offer a team and or just because they don't get aggressive with free agency before the draft let's make sure that's in bold quoted letters before the draft doesn't mean they won't make a trade or 2,

Only explanation I have is that it rolls over to next year if they dont use it. They are keeping their options open in case an opportunity falls in their lap, but if they dont use the space it really doesnt hurt anything for the most part. Could be they are looking at trade options too over free agents...Maybe a Cooper Kupp?
Or…headlines, and it worked.

Get people talking by creating the space, then moaning when they claim they won’t use it, but still talking about them, which is all he seems to want. When Jerry is the cheap one of the two we’ve got problems.

‘Hey wait….Jerry isn’t talking…change must be coming.’ Hahahahaha.

Then again, maybe they just don’t at all know what they are doing. Yeah, I’ll go with that one.

Again if Jerry dont want to spend no money, we as fans need to not spend our money on this team.
Been hearing that for 15 years or more from FANS but still se stadiums full, gear on, tailgaters out etc etc let me know when these personal strikes/protests start working,… I’m bursting with anticipation..lol. I watch much worse teams in harsher outdoor environments also still doing the same, nfl is growing, DC continue to grow in value.. I get the frustration but it would take years of bad ball to get a real effect on Jerry’s wallet to exact change.

If winning SBS or consistently getting deep playoffs are the only reasons fans went to games or bought gear, there would be a lot of bankrupt teams.

Jerry's ineptitude on full display like the country comedian Bill Engvall's punchline "Here's your sign"...
Gotta laugh to keep from crying at this point.

LOL

I can't even laugh anymore.

Jerry's sucked all the hope, aspirations, even dreams from my Cowboys fandom.

Just too old and tired to start following another team. Not that I haven't stopped buying merchandise, etc., I have done that years ago.

Just waiting until Jerry is gone to see what happens then.

I had more hope that last few days when he chose not to speak then I did in 30 years. Then he opens his mouth and it’s gone
Haha. Right! Look at this old gremlin. Can you believe he is the GM of the Dallas Cowboys? Such a joke.

He will get his. It’s coming.

There’s no chance he gets this turned around. Not capable. This team won’t have a winning season for some years.

Word up this way is NY will do all they can to get better this year as their jobs are on the line. Even they (and their two titles since we have done anything) will cease to be doormats before long.

It’s over Jerry. You had your shot and blew it while trying to outsmart everyone else.

You might have missed the over 30 excuse, but Jerry is still working...

"We've got a lot of options. The combine actually I think emphasized that. There's key players deep at key areas of the team running back, defensive line, outside the pressure players." Jones said.

In other words, count on rookies to be immediate contributors and also force yourself to draft for need.

That’s gone well. Stay with it.

right because it wouldn't make any sense to create space only to re sign our own guys and not outside guys, totally agree and appreciate you for clearing this up, Jerry needs to slow down

Look for them to sign a linebacker and possibly a receiver, a corner, a dtackle , an olineman, and a running back They have the needs and the cap space to do any of this.

That logic couldn't run a pee wee team...no one but you said that.

What positions need strengthening? Still take best player available and fill strengthening that way. That is smart drafting and is being done by a strong Scouting group on imput.

You’re kind of in your own world with this stuff and I wouldn’t want to disrupt that.

What positions need strengthening?? Are you nuts?

IM the “only one that said that” says it all. It’s pretty far from that….and I’m not taking your bait on arguing about it, so save it.

You don't and are just full of insult...carry on.

Here is a defensive end just signed, Tyrus Wheat. Carry on with your 30 thingie.

Chauncey Golston and Carl Lawson are also free agents this offseason. Sam Williams saw his entire third season taken away by a knee injury; his status for the beginning of 2025 will be watched carefully. Marshawn Kneeland was also hit with injury; he'll be looking to get back into the promising form he showed early in his first season.

How about a Jerry put down now as well... :hammer:You argue nothing.

Wheat easily proved himself deserving of the relatively modest $1.03 million tender he signed Wednesday.

Not sure why he would do that and annoy the fans that much more. It accomplishes nothing else.
Jerry likes to answer questions, even if he doesnt know the answer.
Also he say things like this to get fans and media talking about him and the cowboys.
It is part of his circus marketing plan.

Best to just ignore jerry and what he says, just look at what he does.

True, I forget this board is like the small subset and average cowboy fan does not have our mindset.
