Anything whose followed Cowboys Wire over the years knows the "not enough pieces of the pie" talk was total subterfuge. The Cowboys gave their two offensive stars new deals and still have $54 million in cap space. They'll have even more if they work out an extension with the biggest star of them all, edge rusher Micah Parsons.

It still don't think that makes sense. It's more than we need to pay existing guys. Maybe if they go early on a contract or two. Tyler Smith maybe. Either way the first year cap number is usually much lower than what they are due on a rookie deal, for a first rounder.

I don’t disagree with that, but it’s fairly pathetic that he has to talk nonsense to get people talking about them.

How about the idea of putting a winning team on the field? I don’t see this plan lasting through where this team is clearly headed. The rest of the division is aggressively getting better while this is about to be the third off-season in a row that Dallas got worse. He will become a complete joke nationally and fully deserves it.

Last year their free agent signings were (drumroll) Zeke, Royce Freeman, and Eric Kendricks. Oh, and they only got Kendricks because Mike Zimmer somehow convinced him to back out of his agreement to sign with the 49ers.

I have been waiting 30 years for this team to return to the top. Three decades of doing the same exact thing expecting different results is not working.

Sorry if I want something to change. Even Micah Parsons said he doesn't want to watch other teams actively get better in free agency while Dallas does nothing.

The Cowboys have done a great job keeping their own free agents but good teams upgrade their roster with outside talent. The Eagles did not draft Saquon Barkely, did they? The Commanders surpassed the Cowboys last year by raiding Dallas' roster and getting some others as well (Bobby Wagner, Frankie Luvu, etc.).

Actively improving your roster does not entail re-signing players that are already in the building. That's called keeping the status quo, not getting better. Dallas kept Dak, Lamb, Osa, and others.
