Jerry: "I'm Not Looking at Free Agency to Fill Voids"

Not sure why he would do that and annoy the fans that much more. It accomplishes nothing else.
I dont think jerry knows what he is saying anymore lol, I watched the interview posted today
and decided his mind is about gone, and they just let him do this to keep him happy,
so best to just let what jerry says go in one ear and out the other.

Brandon cook was a decent pickup
In what way? It appeared his best asset was "he was a reasonable price".

But then again we used him primarily as a long decoy to stretch the secondary, allowing Dak to use Cd and/or TE within the hashes without double Safety coverage. His stats show that the bait wasnt taken by most Defenses (targets, Long Receptions....were way down on his career figures).

(CAPS FOR EFFECT).....THIS IS PRIME JERRY, DONT LOOK AT THE PLAYER AND THE ATTRIBUTES....LOOK AT THE DEAL YOU CAN GET THE PLAYER FOR. MONEY OVER FOOTBALL NEARLY EVERY TIME).

I know this isn't going to happen, but maybe Jerry did this to sign some big name players either from FA, or through trade. I'm just wondering why the 56m in cap space. For what?

Another thing I find odd is the restructure of Dak's contract. They didn't need to do this. They could have switched out Dak's cap hit this year with his 4th year which was 61m and wouldn't have had to do any restructure. That alone makes no sense.
I agree, there's absolutely no need to restructure Dak (at this point) unless Jerry was going to spend. However, he didnt need to do it at all, he could (if he wasnt a attention seeking megalomaniac) signed players first and then restructured Dak..... or indeed he had enough available CAP ($13M) with the CD restructure to facilitate at least one deal.
Knowing Jerry it's for media attention, he can then backtrack about being happy with the roster if doesnt sign anyone ..."I was willing to spend (im not cheap), look how much CAP I created/available, I just have faith in: Schott, Dak and the Physio Room".

Yeah Im kind of lost on that statement Surely he is not going into the draft to fill voids? That's when you start reaching for players.
Spot on, It's the classic 'Jerry *****'. Bats off FA questons by saying "we are looking at the draft....we draft and develop team"......making sure the Tier 1s are off the table, fail in the draft (2023, 2024) then fill the roster with the cheaper remaining FA JAG's and post draft cuts.

Ever since that McClay/Jerry discussion over Mazi, I think we definitely use the draft as the primary method of filling need.

So the same game-plan as last summer. We all know how well that worked out for us..

Really amazing how a few weeks away from the losing...completely erases why we were getting our heads stomped. Jerry still doesn't get it....having zero quality depth gets you beat in this league.

That’s how we got taco and Mazi. The draft is about adding talent to your roster not filling holes. We have a chance to add a really good player but we got to get the best player not the position we need most

Jerry says the Cowboys can fill all their needs in the draft.

This team needs a running back, a receiver, more offensive line help, another DT, at least two linebackers, another edge rusher, and another corner.

They currently own three of the top 145 picks in the draft.

This is our owner, Cowboys fans.
Same guy who said all in and then admitted he had no idea where we were cap wise?

That owner?

I think the Cowboys have to grab a linebacker in free agency.Robert Spillane would be one of my favorite options. He’s older, but he has been awesome the last two years for Las Vegas.

NEW: One free agent that every NFL team should sign this offseason!https://the33rdteam.com/2025-nfl-free-agency-1-player-each-team-should-sign-this-offseason/

Eric Kendricks played well on a one-year deal, so he might be back, but don’t bank on it.

Defensive Tackle

This should be pretty cut and dry. The interior of the Cowboys defensive line has been a problem for the last three seasons.

Teams run all over Dallas and they continue to let it happen year after year.

Re-signing Odighizuwa was extremely important for them to preserve what little good they had inside but there are still significant needs that must be addressed this offseason before anyone should feel good about this position group.

This is being worked upon.

so you claim but so far no evidence of such

Liked the line talking about Osa as 'what little good they had inside'

You simply talk about football applications,,.just your own value system.

Explain this now:

Considering his age and current injury, along with not having double-digit sacks since 2018, a one-year deal with incentives makes sense after playing only four games this past season."

Point: Regardless of where Lawrence ends up, the team that acquires him will get one of the top pass-rushing talents in the NFL. Last season before his year ending injury, Lawrence came out of the gates hot, racking up three sacks in just four games, alongside 14 tackles, four tackles for loss and five hits.

He is not a head of state with a federal level conviction.
