The hubris.

Sounds like like his paid shill homer Patrik walker on talking cowboys yesterday. Talking about playoffs.

These clowns are 1-1 having just got molested by the Saints. But they’re out there talking about the playoffs as if it’s a foregone conclusion and they don’t have to earn it first.

What a joke.

Edit: I know somebody will say something. So let me be clear. The cowboys absolutely may make the playoffs. But the freaking GM shouldn’t be treating it like a foregone conclusion after 2 games. It’s a joke.
wait...he sound like Zoners here who have devalued making the Playoff as if it is a right of passage for the Cowboys...

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones
when asked about what DC Mike Zimmer had to say about Dallas’ defensive performance vs. the Saints: “We can improve. This is something we can correct.” Did Jones think there was a lack of defensive adjustments? “No. No. Not at all. … We can do this and we can do it with the personnel that we’ve got out there right now. … I’m as excited about those players — and there’s many of them, young players, couple of them newer players — as I’ve been about any in a long time.”

I want to stay positive, I really do but where in the world is he getting this outlook from? I heard a stat that there were 124 yds run by the Saints before being touched?? Doesn't matter who ran the ball, they ran for 124 yds before anyone on D touched the runner. And our owner believes we will right the ship in 7 days.
P.S. I sure hope he knows something we don't.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when asked on @1053thefan about the potential impact of losses like Sunday’s being magnified by head coach Mike McCarthy being in the final year of his contract:

“I don’t think where he is with his contract has anything to do with (the Week 1 win at) Cleveland, where we were giving accolades out to him and (Mike) Zimmer or how we played Sunday. … We’re trying to get this team ready and in place to really make a run at the playoffs. On any given Sunday you can have a bad day in the NFL.

“… If we’ve got any albatross around our neck, it’s that we’ve been a good-to-very-good team during the season over the last 4-5 years with Mike and we haven’t done well in the playoffs. So let’s trade some challenges during the season for doing well in the playoffs, if you want to look at it that way.”

The difference between Jerry and Jimmy is Jerry waits until it is beyond obvious a change is needed. Then he makes a small change. Jimmy anticipated when changes were necessary and wasted no time making them.

The running game is awful. Only a fool thinks it will get better next week against the Ravens.

And no Cook this week. The boss has spoken.

Would it shock anyone if Ferguson is out again this week? Jerry does not sound like he wants to win this year. He sounds like he knows losing is inevitable.

He is a paid shill for the Cowboys. He’s a mouthpiece. He’s a younger version of Mickey Spagnola.

So no. I don’t.
I feel that way about Nick Harris too. He was trying to spin some positive stuff yesterday on The Break. Like, dood, Cowboys got destroyed in every way possible. lol

Jerry is a brilliant marketer and salesman. Jerry is also a delusional alcoholic.

This particular take of his bears a lot of the earmarks of both of those qualities

Nobody should be shocked. Jerry either does or doesn't believe this but he's going to say it anyway.

You'd really struggle to name positions where serious improvements have been made.. maybe Linebacker but we'll see.
You don't improve by standing still. We will beat some bad teams, but we'll get our teeth kicked in by the teams that are actually good. We might make the playoffs, but so what?
Keep your expectations where mine are. Firmly in the toilet.

They will respond when they play a lesser team. Any team with a descent run game will shred our Defense if we don’t make some changes.

You ever been to a game at AT&T? If so, then you have your answer on if those fans would buy a jersey. As Parcells would say, they've been sucked
Last game I went to was at Texas Stadium, and last Jersey I bought was 31 Roy Williams the year after he was drafted.

I will never set foot in Jerry's stripper pole temple to himself, unless one of my young relatives plays their high school or college ball games there.

I feel better now that Jerry has said something.

On to the Ravens game.
