LOL, true, but he could also be thinking draft capital........Stephen has made it clear it would be difficult to retain BOTH WRs via huge long-term deals. I do think anyone thinking they would choose Lamb over Pickens is a bit misguided. But in all honesty, I wanna just enjoy having them both on the same team this season and let next season take care of itself.Wow, I don’t believe we’ve ever heard this kind of talk from Jerry before. He even said, “I emphasize…the coming years.”

It’s about after that, when he tries to sign him for a long term deal.Yea, it's going to be really dumb when Pickens is $8-10m cheaper against the cap next year.
Most stupid thing that has been said all off season. And contradicts what they said earlier, as well as what Jerry is still saying.LOL, true, but he could also be thinking draft capital........Stephen has made it clear it would be difficult to retain BOTH WRs via huge long-term deals. For some unknown reason Ol Jerry has his thinking cap on , and he seems to have had it on since right before that Micah trade.Wow, I don’t believe we’ve ever heard this kind of talk from Jerry before. He even said, “I emphasize…the coming years.”

That's the thing, if they signed Pickens to a long term deal in 2027, then can move on from Lamb after the season. Or at most they'd be together for 2 more years. That's not very long term. Plus they can structure Pickens contract to be smaller cap hits for the first two years. They have multiple options to avoid having them both hit the cap hard at the same time.LOL, true, but he could also be thinking draft capital........Stephen has made it clear it would be difficult to retain BOTH WRs via huge long-term deals. They’re not moving on from Lamb who is on a HOF track who they drafted. That's the thing, if they signed Pickens to a long term deal in 2027, then can move on from Lamb after the season. They can have manageable cap hits for the next 3 years, but only if they sign Pickens long term next year. I'm including this year. This year they combine for around 46M. Next year would be around 60m. The following year around 50M or less depending on if they extend Lamb. If they do, even less. But if they tag Pickens next year, they'll have a combined cap hit of 80M.
Yes his cap hit will be lower next year and probably in 2028 as well than it is this year. It’s about after that, when he tries to sign him for a long term deal.
We have no idea what they'll do after 2 more seasons, let alone 3. I don't even care. I was just pointing out how they can keep the combined cap hit down, and for how long. If they extend Lamb after the 2027 season, that will extend the amount of time both WRs can stay together. I just don't want to go that far into the future. They’re not moving on from Lamb who is on a HOF track who they drafted.
A key metric in order to win Super Bowls. The race to become #1 in WR cap space just got real.
You have ppl buying his sales for 30 years of futility. I mean ppl think he has any real role other than signing the checks of those early years. He was as a elite as marketing as Jimmy was at coaching...I never heard Jimmy claim he could sign some endorsement deals, etc. What is difference between that and what he said about this when TC started?
Nothing.
Yeah I mean clearly those war room videos show he's merely a check signer. You have ppl buying his sales for 30 years of futility. its funny huh
If he does pay him it means an outstanding year for the Cowboys and Pickens in 2026.Jerral is holding out in hopes he “gets to pay” Pickens even more, and tie up more of the cap space.
CeeDee went public a month or so ago saying that he's already gotten his money and doesn't care if Pickens makes more. And I honestly believe him. Lamb doesn't seem to me like the kind of guy to lie about that.I wish I was a fly on the wall in CeeDee Lamb's head. lol
Jerry is such a trainwreck.
Pickens is one of the best players in the league regardless of the stats which should be eye popping. One thing to remember though is Pickens' stats may not match last year's. If the Cowboys defense is improved, the offense won't have to throw the ball around as much trying to outscore their own roster. Playing with a lead is something this team hasn't done much of since 2023.
Love the nut rolling reference..I'm not nut rolling here, (phrase my dad use to use) Pickens to my eyes, looks a bit like Randy Moss in the way his body moves and how he effortlessly just comes down with the ball and abuses people softly... It's a talent that is so so rare, in my mind at this point, he is a way more talented receiver than CeeDee, not that this matters, we got both... I really want to believe things are going to be different with our boys, heres to finally breaking the losing drought..
