Jerry is excited about Pickens future with Cowboys beyond 2026

Jerral is holding out in hopes he “gets to pay” Pickens even more, and tie up more of the cap space.
Lets just say you drafted Justin Jefferson and 2 years later drafted Jamar Chase,.....are you letting one of them walk? or trading one?

"The better he plays, the better it is for HIM". Sooo Jerry.....what you really mean is that the better he plays, the better it is for you to get a better "trade" deal? I seriously doubt you gonna pay him even more money if he plays better!! I'm sure Stephen won't allow it!! :muttley:
well, name me a team that has a better combo of wrs in their mid 20s?

If he's planning to sign him then why wait until next year where the cost goes up? With 30 mil under cap right now wouldn't it have made more sense to sign now? Can he even sign an extension while franchised?
Can’t sign him til the season is over. The only thing they can do now is trade him and nothing else.

I'm not nut rolling here, (phrase my dad use to use) Pickens to my eyes, looks a bit like Randy Moss in the way his body moves and how he effortlessly just comes down with the ball and abuses people softly... It's a talent that is so so rare, in my mind at this point, he is a way more talented receiver than CeeDee, not that this matters, we got both... I really want to believe things are going to be different with our boys, heres to finally breaking the losing drought..
I love your Lamb hate.

I have a strong feeling that Pickens will remain with Dallas.
I agree, but fully expect him to be tagged before they work out a deal. That just gives them more time to work on it and keeps the free agent feeding frenzy from affecting negotiations.

Of course, this is assuming Pickens plays like he did last year, behaves himself and doesn't get hurt.

Some will speculate when he's tagged that we're trying to trade him or want him to play on the tag, but tagging a player before working out a deal has been a fairly common practice for this front office, at least recently (as common as using the tag 12 times total can be considered). The Cowboys did that with Dak Prescott and DeMarcus Lawrence, with both getting long-term deals the second time. The only player they tagged twice who played on the tag both times was Anthony Spencer. Three players they tagged once (Tony Pollard, Ken Hamlin, Dalton Schultz) and let them walk the next year. Flozell Adams and Dez Bryant also were tagged once, but Dez held out and they worked out a deal that year before the deadline and Adams played on the tag before agreeing to a new deal the next spring.

LOL, true, but he could also be thinking draft capital........Stephen has made it clear it would be difficult to retain BOTH WRs via huge long-term deals. I do think anyone thinking they would choose Lamb over Pickens is a bit misguided. But in all honesty, I wanna just enjoy having them both on the same team this season and let next season take care of itself.
You got it brother let's enjoy having two great wide receivers and see how it plays out.

Got to know Pickens is going to play his heart out to get that big contract which will be great to see.
We definitely should see the best of him and the competition will hopefully bring out the best in CD lamb.
We'll cross that other bridge when we come to it till then let's enjoy the embarrassment of riches at wide receiver we deserve it
