Surprised he took an OC gig. Wonder if he did that so he can be patient for the right HC job and leave USC when the opportunity presents itself.
They can do better. KK had a losing overall record, had losing seasons 4 out of 6 years, and his peak year was year 1 at 8-5. The big 12 is terrible, TT should be at least going to bowl games 75% of the time.So Texas Tech thought it could do better? I'm baffled. Why was he fired?

Some guys that are great coordinators don’t make great head coaches. Look at Wade Phillips. If he is so bad, why does USC swoop in and grab him? USC is a much better job than TT. It just makes no sense that he gets fired from a tier B football program and gets snatched up by a tier A football program.
Murray has already stated he's sticking to baseball after this season.
Clay Helton is still the HC, but he's on a short leash after a 5-7 season.Surprised he took an OC gig. Wonder if he did that so he can be patient for the right HC job and leave USC when the opportunity presents itself.

Kingsbury can develop QB's. USC has JT Daniels who many think can become great with proper coaching. That makes more sense, but if he can't make it work at TT...........how does he make it work at USC? Still baffled by all the praise and his hiring at USC.
Then it's confirmed we'll take Murray.
Baseball player and Quarterback?
Yup, he's as good as ours.
Murray is faster, has a better arm, and is roughly the same size as Russell Wilson.I really don’t understand the fascination with these short, running, spread QB’s. Such as Tua and Murray. I give you that they are accurate but in the NFL they will take a beating.
Running a program at the college level goes way beyond X’s and O’s. There’s recruiting, dealing with donors, dealing with media, hiring your staff, managing the players themselves. Perhaps KK isn’t good at that stuff, but he’s good at X’s and O’s and player development for certain positions such as QB. And then there’s the possibility that he has a better reputation than he should and he gets canned after a year or two. Who knows. That makes more sense, but if he can't make it work at TT...........how does he make it work at USC? Still baffled by all the praise and his hiring at USC.

Murray a top 10 pick no doubt no hesitation, anyone that saw Lynch go in the first round via trade up would know Kyler will be long gone..hes at last as good but maybe tad better then Mayfield who went first overall, no way he goes past 10..Wouldn't work in the NFL. His quarterbacks don't even take snaps under center.
I would accept Lincoln Riley and draft Kyler Murray in the 3rd round though.
