Which is weird because he's been doing this for nearly 40 years and yet he still shows, at times, a complete lack of high level football knowledge that guys in the game this long would show.

Whether it's strategy in building a roster, the types of players he wants or fits into a particular system, etc. Take the hiring of Eberflus. Did it ever enter Jerry's mind that he was hiring a guy who played more zone than anyone in football but he had a secondary that was much better at man? Or when he traded for Murray, again, did he realize how awful Murray was in zone/pass defense?

Jerry is like a hoarder. He just accumulates "stuff" with no rhyme or reason to his thinking it would seem. I suspect his weeble wobble of a son is even less in tune than his dad. Until this franchise stops operating like Jerry's fantasy football team and hires people with a real vision on what to do to build a championship, what you see year after year is what we should expect.

theres an old saying that applies here nicely. Jerry does not have 40 years of experience, he has 1 year of experience 40 times.

over and over and over. Year after year.

I wonder that you even come up with this.

Jerry never was a football guy. That was one of the main reasons people in Dallas were so upset when he bought the team.

He is a business man. And a bad one. Just a twaddler without moral values.

Jerry is a business man , look at Cowboys net worth when he bought them , to now .

A true legendary salesman .

He doesnt know about football , thats true also
It is true, but honestly the DFW and Texas and surrounding Cowboys fan base is just fabulous and so engrained in anything cowboys. I have not seen a fan base so loyal after 30 years of futility. If this was another team , fans would be wearing garbage bags every other year demanding changes .
The reality is there has not been anything like this type of futility under one GM in the history of sports as we know it , without fan eruption. Maybe the Raiders with Davis , but he ended up moving the team to other cities.

I have lived in several US and International cities , and have seen angry fans when they want a manager or coach or ownership gone. In Spain for example where i lived for 3 years, the would simply raise a white handkerchief and wave it , the whole stadium would have these white handkerchiefs waving and calling out the GM or Coash , and the TV camersas would focus on the GM or coach and his embarrasmment. GMs or Coaches would soon be gone.

From day one, Jerry was the finance guy and Jimmy was the football guy. Do you think that ever changed? You can't be a master of two things at once. Jerry is a master at developing a professional football organizations. The only X's and O's are in his cereal bowl.

Did you see JJs rug was very misplaced in the post game interview ?

His toupee was sliding sideways and back .

This is a sitcom for Jerry. This is all about theatrics and being in the new cycle.

Right and this is because he is a narcissist. He is incapable of introspection and thus doesn’t learn from his mistakes.

Growth and development comes from recognizing areas of weakness and where you need to improve.

Rambo is going to very angry with you

Jerry didn’t hire Eberflus because he was the best DC available. He hired him bc he’s friends with him and he’s cheap. That’s what Jerry cares about.

Jerry is not a football guy

What? Prepare to be attacked by several of the football savants on the board with a cumulative IQ under triple digits. One said recently how well he was doing. Jeez.
