You know We are really lucky to have Jerry Jones in charge of the Cowboys. That guy really really loves the Cowboys and he loves winning. You know how many other owners are complacent at what they are? JJ wants a SB, He wants the best. That line in hard knocks where he said he could be doing anything in the world, but He wants to be with the Cowboys, with our players really touched me.

Jerru Jones has been a great owner almost since he bought the team. Despite hoots and howls over his selection of Jimmy Johnson as HC, we all know how that turned out. But admittedly the years after Jimmy left and before Jerry hired Parcells was an awfully bad time in Cowboy history; poor draft choices, poor head coaches, etc.

Very glad when Jerry took the bull by the horns & brought Parcells in to fix the mess. Parcells certainly made some mistakes in the draft/signing FAs but the pro's far outway the con's. When Parcells finally left, we still hadn't won a playoff game but we had a talented bunch of players at most positions & that's a tribute to Parcells but also to Jerry.

But it's what Jerry learned from Parcells that seems to really stand out. Frankly, I can't think of any mistakes Jerry has made since Parcells left. We already have 2 starters from the 07 with the potential of 2-3 more within 1-2 years. The 08 draft also looks promising. Jerry has also resigned many of the players we need if we are to go deep into the playfs/win SBs. He's also done a much better job then Parcells in signing FAs. TO has been outstanding & Leonard Davis & Ken Hamlin have been exceptional; all three went to the pro bowl. He's also added FA Tank Johnson & Adam "Pacman" Jones (both troubled players who came with an element of risk) both of him who excellent upsides. The addition of Zack Thomas is also a coup in my book cause it's a significant upgrade at the "mo" ILB position. I might also add that I believe the improved play by Burnett and particularly Bobby Carpenter has certainly been helped by Zack's hard work ethic, intensity & extensive film study.

DallasEast, anyway you can post the banana prank on youtube? I watched the entire episode on HBO.com but they cut that part.

What a statement of impact..."anything in the world this morning".

I liked that. I've got enough money in this world to do whatever I want.
That covers alot of territory. Great job Jerry Jones.

Now, go get an Alvin Harper to compliment Michael Irvin right now before it's too far into the season.

Okay, give me a few minutes...

Saying that Jerry wants a Super Bowl is the stupidest thing I've ever read.

You don't think Dan Snyder wants a Super Bowl? You don't think Jeffrey Lurie wants a Super Bowl? You don't think Randy Lerner, Al Davis, Alex Spanos or Jerry Richardson want a Super Bowl?

You don't think 31 owners in the NFL love to win? You don't think the 31 other owners love the team they own?

Unreal.

Banana Joke

It's cruel and sadistic, but I added the Keon Lattimore slip at the end because it's the funniest part of the whole episode in my opinion.

What was the purpose of this rant??

Myself, I could give a rats *** about the other 31 owners.

I've got a feeling I'm about to read something very soon which may top that.

Yeah. That's why he hired Jim Zorn as his head coach. /sarcasm off

Sure. He goes all out to retain his star players. /sarcasm off

Lerner's getting there, but he hasn't shown nearly the same dedication as Jerry Jones. /no sarcasm

Al Davis hopes to see another Super Bowl before he croaks. /sarcasm off

If Alex Spanos doesn't run off any more 14-2 head coaches, he's getting to the Jerry Jones level also. /sarcasm off

[In my best Jim Mora voice] "Jerry Richardson??? Jerry RICHARDSON??? JERRY Richardson???" /sarcasm off

Hell no. I do see many owners who love living the status quo though...

If they love their team as much as Jerry Jones does the Cowboys, why don't them express it in a tangible form? Any examples? Any?

Eddie, you have to be the most cautious fan I've ever encountered. Your skepticism may be well founded, however, and we should not get all foamy at the mouth until we've seen a solid effort or two.
