Jerry Jones’ love affair with Tony Romo is only thing standing in Dak Prescott’s way as Cowboys QB

Roger Staubach - 12 playoff victories, 4 Super Bowl appearances, 2 Super Bowl wins. Elite? YES!
Troy Aikman - 11 playoff victories, 3 Super Bowl wins. Elite? YES!
Tony Romo - 2 playoff victories at wildcard or divisional level. Elite? HARDLY!

Heck, any quarterback who has appeared in the Super Bowl in the past 12 years has at least as many playoff victories as Tony has. Or both Danny White and Craig Morton had 5-5 playoff records (more than twice what Tony has) and I don't see the word 'elite' being tossed around with their names.

WRONG!

Staubach played QB on a Cowboy TEAM that had 12 playoff victories, 4 Super Bowl appearances, 2 Super Bowl wins.

Aikman played QB on a Cowboy TEAM that had 11 playoff victories, 3 Super Bowl appearances, 3 Super Bowl wins.

Romo plays QB on a TEAM that has come up short. It's markedly stupid to pin wins and losses on the QB.

You make too much sense.

This QB controversy has been perpetuated by the media, in part, for a player that has only played six ballgames. It's dramatic, it's made for TV and these people have just ate it up. I mean why wouldn't they? Some of them already have Dak penciled in to the Hall of Fame. You'd think that this team has nothing else at all going for it...

Tony Romo is the better QB. You know it, I know it, and some others do as well. But that's not the narrative. Some of these people sound like Eagle's fans about Romo.

If Romo proves he can be healthy and play like he always has when he is healthy, then this team can be World Champions. And the kicker of it all, Dak will be the man for the next decade still.
Wasn't the media also questioning if Peyton would come back last year when Brock was playing so well? I don't think many would say that the Broncos made a bad choice starting Manning in the playoffs.

P.S. I am not saying Romo is Manning but I am just saying that anytime a backup is playing great they will be calling for him to start permanently.

Yep. You are right.

How many times were we force fed the notion that Manning was done. I mean the man did have his head fused back on to his spine. He missed an entire year and really went through a stretch where he was hurt for awhile.

I vividly remember the game when him and the Broncos rolled into Dallas and he just ate us up. That was the game Romo threw for over 500 yards. And yessir, nobody is comparing Manning and Romo the players, just the circumstances. I remember everybody and their brother telling me that Romo was done after he had disc surgery. It's just how things go nowadays.

People can count Romo out. They certainly have an argument with his injuries as of late, but I'm not one of those guys. And no, I am not a fan of his over the team. I genuinely think that he is the better ball player than Dak Prescott.

Not taking anything at all away from Dak. The man has been very very impressive and I excited as all get out for the next 13 years for this team with him.
