Well that will never happen again. Jerry can’t let the delulu in his mind of his greatness be challenged by the reality that the vast majority of us hate his guts.
I am in a minority and maybe a minority of a minority. I do not hate Jerry Jones. I dislike him but more importantly, I pity him.
Jones is a multibillionaire, who has achieved great notoriety along the way. He did a lot of hard work to get where he is.
However, Jones is a prisoner of his own narcissism. What he has achieved, both fame and fortune, would highly likely be much more in abundance if not for the simple self-sacrifice of surrendering his football management.
Another general manager could have led to better combinations of coaches and players than what he has tried-and-failed to put together. He knows this. Why. Because his steadfast self-denial that no one else could do what he did in the early-to-mid 90s has netted him thirty years of so-so results.
Jones overexaggerated his qualifications for running a football franchise by believing '500 coaches' can win championships if he were involved doing more than simply signing paychecks. He overinflates his self-importance about anything. Anyone thinks that is a false claim? Go to DallasCowboys.com and

Gratifying a narcissist is the worst thing. Getting elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame likely killed any chance of Jones awakening from his self-delusion. The man believes his peers think no one else can guide his franchise to another Super Bowl.
Jones is a legend in his own mind. He could have easily been a legend in many peoples' minds if he had the internal fortitude to control his worst enemy: himself. Pitiful.
