Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones came to the defense of running back Ezekiel Elliott, who was widely criticized for his lack of effort following a Dak Prescott interception in the team's 42-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Jones felt Elliott wasn't the only player whose effort was lacking after the turnover.

"I think if you look at everybody's reaction to that interception, certainly on that interception, if you really look at several Dallas Cowboys players on that interception you saw what would not be the case in a closely contested ball game," Jones said during an interview on CBS Radio's 105.3 the Fan in Dallas.

So this team stunk it up Sunday, the Coach called out players, the owner called out players, the fans called out players and coaches, the media called out players and even players from other teams called out players. Is there any excuse at all why this team would not come out fired up with a massive chip on their shoulders on Monday nite?

It should be a major concern if they don't.

The calling out should be over by now. Now it is time to correct mistakes and get ready for the redbirds on Monday night.

Everything considered...l am willing to cut Elliott some slack. It has been a dreadful off season for him and he is really only a young boy. Be sure he will make up for the Denver game. What the long term future holds?? Only time will tell.

I feel bad for the hell that will be unleashed on the Cardinals on Monday night by the Cowboys. The players have been getting their butts chewed all week and they expect better from themselves than what they delivered last Sunday. Their response to that sub-par performance will get them back on track... no doubt about it.
