Although early in the season. Hat goes off to Jerry and the scouting crew in picking Felix over Mendenhall. As usual, so call draft experts were quick to say Jerry doesn't know what he is doing in picking Felix over Mendenhall.

So far, Jerry does know what he is doing.

Mendenhall would have been the smart pick most of the time. But hat's off to the FO for recognizing how Felix fits here and even more for what he was. More than a few said he couldn't play at a high level in the NFL. Others said he wouldn't make returns that well either.

I think Stewart and Mendenhall were good picks for the teams they went to. I also think we'd have been happy with Mendenhall here. I still don't think MB will last like he plays (hoping I'm wrong). But they also took care of that with TC. I think this kid will be productive, too.

So hat's off to Jerry and mostly Jason.

I think it was clear from the Hard Knocks program that Garrett wanted Felix over Mendenhall. Also believe the selection of Choice in the 4th round gave us an MBIII-type of RB. All I know is that Felix has delivered a TD in games against Cleveland & then the Eagles. Figure he'll soon get his first receiving TD in the NFL. Realize that many fans believe Felix should get even more playing time. That sounds great & if he's in there with MBIII that's okay, but no way do I want him in their alone in both rushing and passing situations. Absolutely no way will I risk Romo until I'm sure Felix's blocking is up to snuff. BTW: I also believe the same thing about Bennett. We'll see more and more of him, while allowing Witten to be always active in the passing game, as soon as the coaching staff is confident about his blocking. From what I saw in Eagles game, this kid is really coming along both in blocking & catching the ball. I was impressed by all 4 of our rookies who saw action this early in the season. They really contributed; must admit I think Choice can really help at RB as well.

Remember when Mendenhall was the "best back in the draft" because he could "stick his foot in the ground"?

I wonder what Mayock is saying now?

If I'm not mistaken, there were a good number of fans saying that too.

I am sure Mendenhall would have looked good also beehind this Oline. Felix fits so well and is the better pick, but we would have been happy with any of the backs that were around that pick. I really like Felix and think hes the best fit out of all of them. But anyone would have been better then Julius and Barber.

You think Felix is better than Barber? In what way?

Felix was picked over Mendenhall because of the WOW facter. We would have not gone wrong with either back. We can't change the past so let's just embrace the WOW FACTER!

wow factor?

I don't think he was the best available but he was probably the best for your team. Like someone else mentioned, lots of running backs would look good with your oline.

I touched on this just before the start of the season in a get pumped about the Cowboys thread.

Go back to the Owens acquisition in Feb 2006, since the Tuna made it clear it wasn't his idea. I'll credit Parcells for every other 2006 pick and FA move.

Now consider our 2007 and 2008 draft and FA classes.

2007 K.Hamlin, T.Johnson, L.Davis.
Drafted 1st DE Spencer, OT Free, WR Stanback, K Folk, CB Brown, CB Ball and a 2008 1st round pick.

2008 A.Jones, Z.Thomas.
Drafted 1st RB Jones, CB Jenkins, 2nd TE Bennett, 4th RB Choice, 5th CB Scandrick, 6th DE Walden.

Can anyone name me a team that has acquired more talent in the last two years?
