I was going to say something about how uncomfortable the flight to Cali will be for him. But then I remembered that Jerry doesn't travel in the proletariat class like I do and will be fine in his jet.

Get better jerry. I didn't know he needed this. Heard this is a terrible procedure.

Actually, it is fairly common in the retirement communities, and normally a quick recovery. Up walking a day or so after surgery. Much easier than knee replacement.

My dad had both of his replaced when he was in his early 40's.... one in 1989 and the other in 1990. The hips were only supposed to last 12-15 years (do the math) and he's never had them replaced again. He's as tough as a pine knot and he doesn't hit the JWB.

Joint replacement usually requires many, depending on how active you are. I am 38 and have had 2 shoulder surgeries. Doc told me the next one I get is a replacement. and depending on my life style I would need another at 15 years. I figure since hips are much more load bearing they wear faster thana shoulder.

I had a hip replacement at age 42. 10 hours a day playing tennis will do that to you! However, new technology is awesome. I walked out of the hospital two days later carrying that dumb walker they gave me. Nothing has changed except my max punt distance has taken a friggin nosedive!
