I admit I am a critic of JJ. Long time critic who thinks his ego and inability to evaluate players and coaches are serious liability to the Cowboys.

But he has his supporters and lots of them. Probably more than enough to keep his going:

* Regular fans of the team who will support anything and everything Cowboy no matter what. They hang with Jerry because he is the current owner and GM. They are in the minority but it is a significant minority.

* A large group of friends who enjoy his company and like him as a person. He has charm. He is a likable guy personally. We all would be lucky to have so many "friends."

* A huge group of vendors and contractors who make a lot of money from contracts and agreements they have with the Cowboys and other Jones' things. To them it is likely about the money. But management changes might affect their business dealings. They are with Jerry to the end.

* A sizable slice of the local and national media. His personality is great copy for them. And he treats them well. He is always available for a quick quote of even a full interview. He provides them with their stories which makes their jobs easier.

I don't know Jerry personally. I never met the man or had a conversation with him. I can't judge him as a person. But based on his actions running the Dallas Cowboys I can formulate an opinion about his acumen as a GM. Of course it is just an opinion. I have no doubt he is a good guy to hang out with if you are in his circle. I bet he has all kinds of stories to tell to captivate his audience. But the nicest guys in the world can still suck at what they do. Jerry's track record as a GM spans over 30 years and in the years he has had full control of the team he has never gotten to the NFC championship game. No team would hire him as their GM and every team would fire him for his record.

I believe his supporters are dwindling in number over the last few years. If he keeps doing what he is doing I suspect he will lose far more of them.

I don't like what I see as a GM. That said, I believe the Parsons trade benefits the Cowboys.

No joke. It must be glorious being a fan of another team in our division. Dallas has had some good teams. Even when they do, they come crashing down. And never in 30 years were they close to a championship. Fun times for all except cowboys fans.

I found a pic of all of Jerry's supporters

And other GMs and Owners. As long as Jerry and Stephen are in charge there is one less contender for the Lombardi trophy.
