Jerry Jones - "I never had anything I wanted that I couldn't get. Ever. I'll figure out a way. "

It’s not coming back anytime soon without an upheaval from the fans.

And with all of the brilliant revolutionary revenue streams he spearheaded doesn’t even need the full support of Cowboy fans anymore.

He can fill his stadium with opposing fans and corporate sponsors entertaining their clients.
Let’s see what 3-4 losing seasons in a row does for things. Logic very much dictates that’ll happen. Prescott is going to be much more limited physically, and the team isn’t as good as it was 2-3 years ago.

The division is better. Those free spot on the bingo card wins are no longer there.

Yeah, Jerry’s gotta go for any type of winning to be possible, but I’m actually fine with him making a complete fool of himself on the way out. That fun is just beginning.

A popular question around here is what Stephen is going to do once Jerry dies or quits. I think the next few years are going to determine that. It may finally sink in that they are in over their heads, and it’s not worth the heat (to Stephen. Jerry can take it easily). He will have a shot to be a big hero with fans and get out, or be an enemy of many. Again, this is after 3-4 losing seasons. People are gonna be on edge, and others quite apathetic. For now though it really is something though how they can manage to beat up on bad teams consistently enough to continue the lie.

Jerry is the most emotionally insecure self made billionaire I’ve ever seen. He’s very thin skinned compared to guys like Mark Cuban or Jeff Bezos who usually listen to criticism and learn from it. When he’s criticized publicly he starts flexing, reminding everyone who dares to question the great OZ that HE is the only one who can “fix” this team.

It is obvious by now that Jerry has a complete bubble around himself and his family. It appears no one outside his trusted circle has his ear or respect when it comes to changing the personnel and operational side of running the team. Losing and failure does not affect him because he takes no responsibility for that.

In short, we have an 82 year old delusional narcissist who is completely unaccountable for his actions. Hate to say it but this won’t get better until he’s gone. He has proven incapable of being honest with himself.
It is a sobering assessment of Jerry Jones whenever anyone stops themselves of excusing him of dementia he does not have. It takes zero effort writing off Jones' lack of football management assuming he is mentally incompetent. The realization he has always been and continues to be simply NFL stupid is a much harder task.

Jerry is clearly senile by making such remarks. His family needs to remove him from decision making or the league will need to remove the team from him. The Cowboys are in shambles with JJ as GM.

What gets me is this has been going on now for 3 decades. It’s not like it just begun.

I’d argue Jethro has already proven success on the field isn’t necessary for financial continuity and set in place a fool proof system through his revolutionary revenue streams.

As far as post Jethro. It’s not likely his heirs will follow the same course. Remember , this was his dream to be a celebrity football guy. They’ll most likely pursue a more normal course which doesn’t necessarily guarantee more success.

Which actually is good for the league. Most teams are good with Cowboys not being a strong contender while still drawing interest.

What amazes me is as bad a GM he is the Cowboys haven’t been a consistent bottom feeder.

But at least teams around the league with less success running normal operations have a shot of getting it right at some point.

We are stuck in a more perpetual funk of mediocrity hedging on collapse.

Yup. Even the Gnats will be better.

Does Vegas have an over-under number on wins this season? Maybe time to bet a lock! Edited after I checked. 8.5 games. Bet the under. You’ll thank me later.

7.5 as of a couple weeks ago.
I checked after I posted and it was 8.5. That seems like a lock for the under. We may get to 7-8 IF they hit on 4 big time starters in the draft. They’ll sell it as we did even if we don’t. That’s the yearly spin.

Most books have it at 7.5 this evening.

To me, this sounds like he might be thinking about trading up in the draft.
