Jerry was drinking the kool aid too.
Of course he drinks the koolaide. Jerry runs this team like a fan, not a GM. He runs everything from an optimistic, “best case scenario”, where no one gets injured and all original game plans on both sides of the ball work, and all coaches and players are at their best.

Optimism is good. But preparedness is better. Especially in a guy serving as your General Manager.

However, when you have a job for life regardless of the results you get, it’s no big deal to have complete “throw away” seasons. Who cares? There’s always next year.

And for those Cowboys fans who think Jerry is going to make a change at HC if this year goes south because “he’s getting older and wants to win another SB”....think again. Jerry thinks he’s going to live and run this thing another 20 years. And he wants Jason Garrett, his own personally home grown head coach-puppet to be his man.

Jerry will never stop drinking his own Kool aide. Otherwise he would have fired himself years ago. We fans can stop drinking it though. Quit buying tickets and gear if this team doesn’t do any better than the last 23 straight seasons.

I'm not so sure though that Jerry isn't going to change coaches if things don't go as planned.

He seems like he is throwing out some signs that his Patience his getting thin.

Let's also keep in mind that jerry may know all along that Garrett himself will possibly step down all on his own. It's not far fetched for there to be an understanding at this point that's not public between them.

This is it in a nutshell. Quality teams seem to want it more when it comes down to important games. But Dallas is going to have to step it up if they want to go better than 9-7 this year. They have a tougher stretch than last year. I do believe the talent is there.
Do we have a great pass rush? Do we have a great secondary? How about great LB's?

Truth is, we don't, not really. What is perceived as a lack of wanting it more is actually a product of a team that is poorly constructed, and those weaknesses often get exposed, especially against quality teams. How does wanting it more help when Heath can't turn to make a tackle in space? How does it help when the opposing QB steps up into a clean pocket to avoid our outside pass rushers? When our DL is pushed aside as the Rams rip us up the middle?

No, guys, you're wrong. What you see as lack of effort is really a lack of identity, coupled w/ weaknesses in key areas.

Jerry definitely lives in la la land. Us educated fans knew that the same product was going to exist as long as Garrett is our coach it's really that simple. The guy has had more than enough time to break through in the playoffs and he just can't find the mojo to get it done. He is what he is at this point and all of us here at the Zone understand that. I think this is what makes rooting for our team so dang frustrating! There is a total lack of hope following this team because of the predicament that Jerry has this team in... Sure we go on runs and look dominant but we shouldn't be getting fooled by a smile anymore because we all know at the end of the day our coach can't win against other great coaches in BIG moments... It really has become more about the show, the circus, and getting a whiff of the the **** show..

This is a truly depressing post.

And very, very accurate

Don't worry, Jerry...you have brought in enough 'guts' veterans that it will rub off as the season goes on. Cooper, Cobb, Quinn, Barnett...and more time on the carpet for Sean Lee. A close to healthy offensive line, oh yea, Jerry, it will start to show...kind of like a pregnancy...it's coming!!

Garett is an awful head coach. this is not breaking news. His inability to make any sort of adjustments, ever is mind boggling.

I gave up on him after the Chaz Green game. How do you possibly let a scrub end rack up 6 sacks in a game and never ever think about giving help to that side. A high school coach would have figured it out and Garrett couldn’t

"I thought the Cowboys would be better than this, maybe if I give Garrett a 5 year extension everything will be ok."
