Jerry Jones In The NFL Hall Of Fame? Just Imagine...

http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2016...ry-jones-in-the-nfl-hall-of-fame-just-imagine

All credit goes to Todd Archer for bringing this idea up in an article posted on ESPN. It's not something most of us have really thought about before, but one day it could be a reality. The idea of Jerry Jones entering the NFL Hall of Fame would surely make some heads explode, but Archer makes a compelling case.

San Francisco 49ers former owner Eddie DeBartolo was just voted into the Hall of Fame. He presided over a stellar run for the Niners, much like Jones did in the early 90s. But Jones has gone on to significantly contribute to the NFL as a whole. He's been involved with television rights negotiations, he's been involved with the collective bargaining agreement, he even brokered the plan that recently moved the St. Louis Rams to Los Angeles.

His marketing of the Cowboys, the stadium and practice facilities he's built, all of that has combined to keep the Cowboys relevant even though the play on the field has been mediocre to bad for the most part once the 90s run ended. His contributions to the NFL have been huge.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was a guest Wednesday night on Audience Sports’ Undeniable with Joe Buck.

Jones shared several stories on his life, including the highs and lows of being an NFL owner and keeping the Cowboys relevant.

The Cowboys finished 4-12 last season and have not made it to the Super Bowl in 20 years, but they remain one of the most watched teams in pro football history.

Let me just state upfront...if one doesn't take the time to look into Jerry Jones, the man, then he is just losing the opportunity to see a truly dynamic person. Jerry has given roots to his family. But not only there, he has given back to the community and the NFL's well being as well.

The Dallas Cowboys appeared in eight of the first 30 Super Bowls. They’ve appeared in none of the last 20. And that drives owner/G.M. Jerry Jones crazy.

“I hate it,” Jones said over the weekend at the NFL Honors ceremony, via the Dallas Morning News. “I scream in my pillow when I go home at night when we’re here. I want [the Dallas Cowboys] to be here so bad, but it’s filling my bucket up so we can go.”

Still, experiencing the Super Bowl makes Jones want to get back even more.

“It’s inspirational,” Jones said. ” It makes you want to just empty your bucket to get in here and have this kind of experience. We feel that way. It’s deliberate.”

For 2016, the Cowboys once again have hope, and it starts with the ability of quarterback Tomy Romo to have a big year.

“Candidly, I’m just counting on Tony to come back and have some of the greatest years, if not the best years, of his career,” Jones said. “We want to make sure that we’ve got him the supporting cast. . . . We tried to do it this year. We didn’t get here. We’ll keep trying to get it done.”

Hall of Fame should call on Jerry Jones

IRVING, Texas -- Last Saturday, Eddie DeBartolo was selected for induction into Pro Football Hall of Fame for his contributions to the game.

As owner of the San Francisco 49ers, he presided over one of the greatest runs by an organization in NFL history. The Niners won just four of their first 32 games CHECK under DeBartolo but in 1979 he hired Bill Walsh and drafted Joe Montana. By 1981 San Francisco won a Super Bowl. They would win three more Super Bowls.

During his time the Niners won 13 division titles, made 16 playoff appearances and played in the NFC Championship Game 10 times.

His players loved him.

As far as contributions to the game, however, DeBartolo's résumé is built --
proudly -- on winning. And that's not a knock on DeBartolo, who was suspended by the league for his involvement in a corruption case that ultimately led him to hand over control of the franchise.

If DeBartolo is a Hall of Famer, then it will be just a matter of time before Jones finds himself in Canton, Ohio, as well.

Jones has three Super Bowl wins as owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys became the first team to win three Super Bowls in a four-year span when they took home Super Bowl XXX in 1995.

The Cowboys have made 13 playoff appearances under Jones. In 2014, Jones was named the Executive of the Year for the Cowboys' 12-4 record.

The Cowboys have not played in a conference championship game since 1995. Only the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders have a longer drought in the NFC, and the Cowboys had the worst record in the conference in 2015, finishing 4-12.

What makes Jones' résumé Hall of Fame worthy, are his contributions to the game...

So if they put him in the Hall of Fame, does that mean he has to retire??????? If so, lets put him in there yesterday.

Not for owners. They can go in at any time, I believe as contributors.

I believe Kraft will go in before Jerry, which will be a travesty.
