After 20 plus years we still gripe about the owner and his ways. At times he is considered a great owner (when we win), currently he is the worst, a younger Al Davis. What I dont get is the constant complaints about him, we know what we have in JJ, a owner driven to win at all costs. The "at all costs" aspect however sometimes bites us in the ***. He was the guy who made shrewd draft moves, signed pricey FA's, built/marketed the Cowboys into a billion dollar team. Some moves pay off, some dont. But one thing for sure is Jones is always trying to make the Dallas Cowboys #1. My point is, would we rather just have someone who doesnt care??? No, we want someone who wants to win. JJ the GM is hit and miss, but you can say that about alot of GM's. And of course the ones who miss alot are unemployed. Yeah, in a perfect world we have JJ the owner, willing to spend, listening to Pioli's advice and of coach Shanahan, sitting back and letting the "football people" do their job. But that isnt JJ and never will be, so lets stop the complaints and be "greatful" we have an owner who at least tries to win, like I said, sometimes it works and some times it doesnt....

You sure know your audience.

Jerry Jones last face lift was so tight, he could read long one paragraphed posts without a problem.

I, on the other hand, prefer people hit the enter button from time to time.

For the OP, I am just joking with you.

There enlies the problem with Jerry, he really doesn't want to win at all costs and as a result, the team continues to fail. Sorry, but I can't be greatful for that. He has the best franchise in the league which should give him and the team an inherent advantage, but that gets squandered because he is unwilling to put highly qualified people in place, let them do their jobs, give them authority, expect results and be willing to be openly critical of valid problems instead of spinning everything in a ridiculously positive light.

I fully supported him when he hired Jimmy as well as when he hired Parcells. I am strongly opposed to the way he is directing this team currently. He doesn't need to go back to either of those two extremes, but what we have now is ridiculous and the results speak for themselves.

How many times do we have to reiterate that we love and appreciate "Jerry the Owner" but not the GM? This is not an "all or nothing" proposition.

I don't think anyone is saying Jones is the worst owner in sports - I'm sure not.

But he's not without flaw or above any criticism either.

For all of the great decisions he makes, he also makes some poor ones.

Every single time someone dares to defend the guy.

But why would anyone in their right mind do such a thing?

You answered your own question - 0 for 12, Jerry should be fired. No team would hire him as a GM..it's simple.

He wrecked a dynasty, plummeted us into the laughing stock of the NFL then he got desperate and saw the light by hiring a real football man again in Parcells, got itchy because he wasn't getting enough attention again and saddled us with the most dysfunctional no-accountability coaching staff that I've ever seen.

Thing about Jerry is that he has taken 2 immensely talented teams molded by real football personnel and destroyed them, so I'm not really grateful to a guy that just wants the Press baby! Think Pepsi commercial with Wade, that parody is actually the reality.
