Jerry Jones has a lot of faults. He continuously makes errors on draft day and over pays players. Being disloyal is not one of them. Jerry Jones has been shown to be overly loyal to his players and reward them with contracts that do financial harm to the teams long term contract. What is Jay Ratliff's problem? Jerry Jones paid the man when he had two years left on his contract. He did not squat on his rights like he should have and paid the man for his past performance. Players love Jerry Jones as evidenced by his intro of Larry Allen.

With that said Jerry Jones should have a long talk with Ratliff in the next few days. It is clearly evident that Ratliff is trying to force is way out of Dallas, and I would not grant his request. If he goes on IR this year, I would carry him on the roster next year and PUP him again. Dallas would only save something like 1.3 million dollars by cutting him and his salary is guaranteed. I would hold on to him out of pure spite and show him that you have to honor your contract. If Ratliff truly wants to be free than he can give up his guaranteed salary, if not let him rot on the bench. He would only hurt is own ability to earn another contract. Jerry Jones should stop being nice with this guy and play a little hard ball. The bottom line should be Ratliff will either play for the Cowboys now or he will be on the sideline for another year and a half. Either way he still gets his money, so make his life miserable.

Understand your frustration or even anger but that just won't work well for the Cowboys. You could hire a PI to watch him and see if he's doing activity that refutes his assertion he's unable to play. Best to just IR him then cut him next year if you believe he's harming the team. JMO.

I don't know if Rat loves the game anymore. If he did, he would play anyway and ask to be traded. Instead, he is milking Jerry and sitting on his couch. what Jerry needs to do is get his doctors to declare him able to play and take him to court for breach of contract.

This is exstremely frustrating and wierd. We could reaLly use Rat, particuary considering the injuries that have depleted the DL. I'm wondering if there's and unknown factor at work. Perhaps Rat has an addiction problem or something.

This whole situation pisses me off! I wish there was a way ratliff couldnt get a dime and was released. I lost all respect for him. Jerry takes care of his players and he pulls this.

Huh! He is a cancer. Why in the heck would you want to carry him on the roster again NEXT year? It's time to admit the club made a mistake and move on. Being vindictive isn't going to help anyone.

Sounds like his injury just never healed and he is going to ir according to Mickey.

S we will have two open roster spots.

I say give them to randy white and Leon lett, they are at each game anyway.

This whole situation is frustrating as hell and really irks me.

If he's really that injuried then IR him and lets move on this year.

If he's not really injuried and he's just refusing to comeback to play, no matter what the reasons are, then I don't want him on this team any longer anyway. You don't do that to your teammates no matter what your beef is with the management. That's selfish and useless in a team setting.

I don't know what's going on but it's really annoying.

I don't know how you'd make a multimillionaire miserable by paying him to do nothing.

Show of hands; who would do that in a NY minute?

By contract do the Cowboys have the right to have their doctors examine Ratliff? Doesn't matter though because his base salary in only $1.3 million.

He is going to get paid no matter if Dallas releases him or not. Next years salary is guaranteed. Why cut him and have him kill it next year for a team like Philly or NY? I would rather squat on his rights this year and IR him next year so he plays for no one. He would only make an extra 1.3 million next year if on the roster so why give him what he wants and grant his release?

If you think he's deliberately harming the team and can perform despite him saying he can't then you can address that. Not sure if you can be successful or not but this is no different than any other worker's compensation case. You do a functional capacity exam, independent exams, and hire a PI. Usually you have to suck it up. The other side of the coin is the guy is injuring his ability to play for another team and get a decent contract. This is the problem with guaranteed money.

jay seems like a paranoid guy. if he catches a PI following him, he might kill him lol.

To be fair, none of us have any idea what's going on.

I haven't seen #90 suit up in over a year and a half. He isn't helping this team, he is hurting it. Needs to be gone. that is all the "idea" and "info" I need.

Hmm, Maybe I will go to the "coaches tape". Get down to the bottom of this.:D

I think they had an affair ....hot steamy fight in locker room now the silent treatment. Jerry taking 'player development' to new level.
