Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared on Sunday night's episode of Entourage, playing himself and meeting with Ari Gold, whose name Jones mispronounced.

The cameo appearance was set up by Cowboys public relations director Rich Dalrymple, who says Entourage is his favorite show.

"Rich walked in my office and said, 'I need you to clear your calendar; you're going to be on Entourage,' " Jones told the Dallas Morning News. "I said, 'When did you become my agent?' "

As for Sunday night's show, we have a feeling that some in the image-conscious league office won't be thrilled by the scene set in a strip club, even though it didn't involve Jones or the NFL storyline. But NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will no doubt be pleased to hear that one of Ari's colleagues said the best way to improve the league is to cut two preseason games while expanding the regular season.

Jerry was pretty good. I like the line about his son possibly becoming the GM.

I have to say Jerry looks real natural and good on camera, pretty good acting IMO

Jerry Definitely In Character On Entourage

Having seen his team featured on two separate editions of Hard Knocks, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is no stranger to HBO. But he made his debut on the hit series Entourage on Sunday night, playing himself of course.

And there was no doubt that Jones was in character the whole way, alongside team spokesman Rich Dalrymple. In fact, in one scene shot at Cowboys Stadium (which of course they made sure and got a wide angle of the video board), it looked like Jerry Jones Jr. was in the background as Jerry was on the phone with super-agent Ari Gold, played by Jeremy Piven.

Oh, and if you’re unfamiliar with the show, that’s pronounced Ari, as in R.E. Of course, they wrote it in the script that Jerry pronounce his name like “Air-E” and that’s when I knew Jerry was definitely in character.

Now his role in this episode, was dealing with TV rights for the entire league, but perhaps Jerry gave a hint of something we probably already knew, but isn’t mentioned much. But Jerry did say in one of his line that he’s “grooming his son” to take over as the general manager one day. We all figured that would likely happen with Stephen Jones at some point – who knows if that’s sooner or later.

Anyways, if you’re a fan of the show and the Cowboys, it was a nice little twist. If you don’t like Entourage or simply don’t get HBO, then I apologize because you obviously don’t care for this blog. So, just hang in there – two more weeks to go.

I watched it last night, and what I loved about it is that Ari and his agents keep talking about how they need "to speak to the NFL." And then when the NFL calls, it's Jerry Jones. Jerry is referred to as "the NFL" on a number of occaions. Although Jones does eventually mention that all owners would need to agree to use Ari as an agent, the general tenor of the whole piece was that Jerry Jones/the Cowboys were the NFL. The Kings. The Ones in Charge.

I bet little Danny Snyder cried last night for at least an hour, then threw eggs at his Jerry Jones doll that keeps locked up in his secret room off his study, and then probably fired his yard man just to get some sense of power.
