"We don't have that knowledge and background, and scientifically, so there's no way in the world to say you have a relationship relative to anything here," Jones said. "There's no research. There's no data. ... We're not disagreeing. We're just basically saying the same thing. We're doing a lot more. It's the kind of thing that you want to work ... to prevent injury."

Proof? Who needs proof? Once the media decides to say it's fact the sheep will follow and their target will have a problem,,, Will Smith says "Hello".

Not in this case. He is stating a fact. There hasn't been enough research.

Likely because there aren't enough young and otherwise healthy volunteers who are willing to kill themselves in a manner that preserves their brain like Seau.

The real question here is why anyone would even say that more evidence is needed and what would they even do with the evidence?

If there is a link, then what? Change the game entirely in one fell swoop?

Why not just error a bit on side of caution, acknowledge that this profession carries risks, and do all you can to minimize such risks? Is there anything lost in that approach?

Even the researchers will agree with Jerry on this one. They *think* there is a *likely* connection. But there's not enough research to determine a solid connection. I think there's a connection as well, but there's simply not enough research to show what is causing it and why many players never have CTE and others do.

Not in this case. He is stating a fact. There hasn't been enough research.

But there has been research. He is not being truthful when he says there is none. Is it strong enough? Maybe not. But he shouldn't disqualify what connections have been made by pretending they don't exist

The data for evidence to prove CTE comes from concussions is in the brains of donors. So when it is said Jerry needs more data, what is really being said is Jerry needs more brains.

They should check some brains of boxers ?
They get hit in the head more than nfl players.
mma and wrestling too.

This is why I dont fully buy into it...you dont see boxers or mma fighters coming up with this disease and trying to get money out of it.

What makes nfl players so special? Who thinks getting hit in the head and getting a concussion, seeing stars, blacking out, getting dizzy, throwing up, etc. is "ok" and not harmful? People with an IQ of about 2, I suppose.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I wonder if Jerry thinks we need more data before linking CTE and Johnny Walker Blue.

He has it going on with this quote from last night:

Jerry Jones said he's comfortable going into the regular season with Kellen Moore as the team's backup quarterback but "would like to get him some competition.'' He said that competition would come in the form of a veteran.

Would love to hear who this veteran is.
