Just for fun...if I could buy the team, I'd get a Jimmy Johnson statue and bring that and the Landry statue to more of a centralized area outside the stadium entrance. I'd then have a Jerry statue made and put it at the furthest corner of the property of the furthest tailgating parking lot and never give it any maintenance.

LOL Someone could offer Jerrah 6 billion tomorrow and he still wouldn't sell.

Our only hope is that we truly bottom out like a 2-4 win season. This team has been too mediocre over the last 10 years for Jerrah to finally realize he has no clue how to build a team.

I would love for us to have the season our neighbor, the Texans, are having right now.

Don't worry. Our time will once Romo leaves. A 2 win season is in our future.

LOL...let me ask you guys this. Why sell? What's broke? Highest TV ratings, highest merchandise sales, lead the league in attendance both home and away. All is well, no reason to sell because it's not about wins or loses.

Once you accept this you'll feel better.

For the short term, this is correct. But for the long term, this is false. As the fans are getting more and more apathetic about this team due to it's problems, less and less gear will be bought, less games will be attended, etc.

Jerry is running out of ways to give us false hope. More and more of us are unwilling to buy whatever he will try and sell us to keep the team and himself relevant.

I think Jerry's ego will start hitting him more and more in his wallet as the years of futility keep going on. The only question remains is, does this get him to try the Parcells route again or does he go full Al Davis and become even more and more a joke. Personally, I believe he goes the Al Davis route.

Under Jerry's tenure as a stand alone GM over the past decade and a half, the Cowboys have maintained their "vital" status by initially, trading off Jimmy's Super Bowl legacy and by keeping the the aging triplets on, then by hiring Parcells (hope for actually becoming a contender again) and finally, via the advent of the Tony Romo love hate era. When Tony leaves, all of the legacy stuff will be played out (fans born after the Superbowl era etc.) and Jerry will no longer be able to trade off of the cult of personality surrounding his QB. If the team tanks simultaneously, it will be interesting if the franchise's financial dominance continues.

Dont forget the synergy of the Victoria Secret Store at the stadium. Thats pure football genius.

Yup it finally dawned on me last night. This is a bigger issue than Jerry simply giving up GM. The harsh reality is that the Cowboys will never do anything again as long as Jerry Jones is here. His presence, his personality, even as an owner has turned this team into the circus that would make it hard for any GM or coach to succeed. So even if he hands off GM duties to someone else and/or hires a good coach, it's not like he will suddenly become invisible. Win/loss, Jerry will still be the face of the team and the media will look to him first and foremost for reaction after every win or loss.

He could have no ties to the football operations but he'll still make one stupid comment and it will be the first headline on ESPN. His presence is just too much; even when we won in the 90s with Jimmy and then Switzer, Jerry had not become THIS figure yet in the public spotlight.

He won't leave this team until his health no longer allows it and that could be a LONG time. We're done, folks. The Cowboys are done!

someone needs to start an online petition to hire a GM and make it known to the national media.

I'll sign it. We'll all be famous. :)

It's inevitable honestly. Romo has a good two to three years left. They draft ok at best and they suck with the cap. It's an incompetent franchise. We are an injury away from a 3-13 team.
