Just a few minutes ago, Jerry was interviewed in his car as he arrived at Valley Ranch. He said they have planned for this all along. They are technically not under the cap at this point but they plan on making moves to get "well under" the cap. He mentioned they will be contacting all free agents they are interested in today and seemed to hint that they will be active in free agency.

I doubt Free will be hammering out any contract at the Ranch. Probably pays an agent for that. I am excited about free agency. Hopefully we can shore up our secondary and solidify the O line too. Lofty goals, I know...but we can hope.

Jerry may not be great at drafting and he does get on my nerves as he tends to follow what the league is doing in terms of trends, instead of just saying this is the Cowboy way and stick to a philosophy, but one thing the man knows is dollars and cents. If he want to be a player in free agency, he will figure out to get all of the players he wants under the cap. In money matters, I trust Jerry...
