The man is pure genius, think about it. He purchases the Cowboys for pennies on the dollar (Buy Low.) Makes some trades then wins 3 Super Bowls (Short version.)

Then we drop off for a few years and what does he do?

He buys low again!!

1) TO nobody wants him, he's a "cancer" yadda yadda yadda.
2) Tank trouble maker, yadda yadda yadda...
3) Pacman same scenario.
4) Zack Thomas "washed up, broken knoggin."

Not!!!

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot more but do you get the point yet? He picks up guys that still have something left in the tank but nobody wants to touch, when their stock is low.

Buy low baby!!!:starspin:lombardi:

I can't sleep, I just ate some ice cream and I'm bouncing off the walls..:D

He's a good backup behind Ratman.

From my understanding Jerry spent nearly everything he had when buying the team, and he was spending something like a million dollars a day to keep them running at first.

I dont think it was easy at all. he is to be credited with what they are more than anyone, sans the players. he took risks and it payed off for him and his family.

now he had a deal to buy the chargers for pennies on the dollar I believe in the early 80s or mid 70s, but his dad encouraged him to not make the deal....And the reason was he was getting a loan through the teamsters union and that was mob money. So that umm wouldnt have been good.

TO wasn't exactly cheap at $25M for 3 years.

The terms of the contract were very cheap. Guys like that usually sign for way more than 3 years, and get way more guaranteed money.

Yeah, I don't think his original purchase of the Cowboys was for pennies on the dollar. What he paid was a pretty fair chunk of change back when the transaction took place and I don't think anyone thought he was getting an off the chart deal.
He has managed his investment very, very well, and deserves a lot of credit for that.

If my memory serves me correct he got the Cowboys for a hundred mill, now they are valued just over a billion plus...
