On day 2 of the draft, Jerry was holding a press conference and came right out and said "Our goal is not to go to the superbowl every year. The goal is to make each year better than the previous year."

He must have been experiencing a stroke

Jsut yeatersay he said he thinks we can contend for a super bowl this years.

He did throw in the qualifier that we haven’t had this much change since 1989 and we won one game that year, but the rest on the day talked about how he will sacrifice the future for a Super Bowl this season

Seriously, imagine the reaction on this board if the Cowboys' publicly stated goal was not the Super Bowl but a sub-.500 season.

I get that three decades of failure has jaded this fan base beyond repair but we've gotten to a new low.

So if someone makes fun of or criticizes Jerry n his gang for saying this is a SB year, they are jaded ,broken,and should just shut up because it offends you ???

And you automatically go from SB to sub .500 that Jerry should say? That makes no sense.

How about they just try for the nfc champ game this year, and winning the division.

If they cant beat phil and have a better record than phil, and win the div, then they are not going to the SB.

WC team has to play 3 games on the road, and if Dallas is good enough to do that they would win the Div.

I like shotty, but constantly talking about the SB, and then falling short of that will only make things worse.

It is better to state a lesser goal and achieve more than that , than it is to state the SB and not achieve that.
Anything less than a SB will be seen as a failure.

He's been at that point and beyond for some time now. A lot of fans lay thirty years of failure at his feet, so that tells you all you need to know.
