I criticize the timing of it...I think his inactivity this offseason led to his injury

Julio Jones had the same injury 2 years ago though and didn't have an ongoing contract dispute in the offseason. I think it's just an unlucky injury. He broke a bone in his foot, it wasn't a muscle or soft tissue injury. You can't strengthen a bone by running routes or hitting the gym in the offseason like you can strengthen a muscle.

This is a one way or the other deal with this injury. If he comes back after the bye and plays, the foot either holds up, or it fractures again and he's basically out for the rest of the season.

I hope they know what they're doing with this timetable.

Dez plays hard and violently. I don't like the idea of him coming back too early. But what do I know? I'm not a doctor. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn recently. ;)

Which offseason trining program can help prevent the breaking of bones?
You should share your secret with the other 31 NFL teams and the NBA. You're gonna make millions! :D:D

I still don't believe them. I don't think we will see Dez until the Tampa or Miami game. Would love to see them prove me wrong.

Or stem cell therapy, like Manning had.

I drink a shake every morning of tiger ***** and stem cells, and stir it with a deer antler, and I am damn near indestructible. I wear a hyperbaric suit to work, and my medical alert bracelet reads 'Impervious to bullets.'

So if Dez IS Superman? Why were we waiting for the market to be set this offseason? Instead of just getting him into camp and preparing for the biggest season we have had around here in a long time. A re-visit of this entire offseason is exposing some fatal flaws. I mean...there was a period this offseason where fans on this very forum were like "let Dez leave...we have Terrance Williams". "Forget DeMarco Murray...anyone can run behind this OL" Or the front office assessment of the RBs we had in house..and how "good we feel about them" And no one throws a better ball than Brandon Weeden....and with Romo taking every Wednesday off....he has developed some really good chemistry with Terrance Williams....which they showed us over and over and over again on Sunday night /sarcasm off!

Ouch!..

Are you guys for real? If he comes back early it means the doctors have cleared him and he is 100% to go at it. It's not Jerry's call.

His mere presence will make Beasley and Williams actual receivers again.

Yes, I agree, as with any injury. However, if they are actually NOT rushing him back, then is it still a mistake? Hmmm

You'd think a fractured bone is one thing they'd be able to determine fairly conclusively if it were sufficiently healed or not. Isn't that what xrays pretty much do? Or am I being naive?

The target date for Dez Bryant's return continues to be Week 7 on the road against the New York Giants.

Bryant had a bone graft and a screw inserted into his right foot on Sept. 14 to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal. His projected return was slated for around six weeks. The Cowboys believe he'll have a shot to return after their Week 6 bye.

"Dez, of course, is Superman," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ show [KRLD-FM]. "I say that without a smile. He heals extraordinarily quick. His procedure went well. He's sound with the procedure. Everything they did, by the way, the graft all that, it enhances his chance to get out there. I think he's got a chance to do it after the bye."

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones gave a similar update Monday on The Fan's G-Bag Nation show.

And? Dez without Romo isn't all that special. Yes, he'll make some individual plays but if you think this offense is going to start humming simply because Dez is back, you're in for a rude awakening.

Really? Dez was awesome when Kitna was at QB. And that was when he was a rookie too. Plus, He had a 100 yard game with Orton at QB as well. One bad game with Weeden under center doesn't render Dez useless without Romo
