If Fat Boy Ryan had our injury-riddled efensive team he too would be at .500.
No, he took on a defensive team in NO that had a good core of defenders and has thrived. Now we panic and want to fire Kiffin. We've already panicked and fired Fat Boy Ryan. Time to move on from yearning for an overrated guy like Ryan.

Agree.

We are playing with the equivalent ( due to injuries) of a preseason " will they make the team" squad with a few exceptions. Lee, Ware, Carr.

What do you suggest. Is 600 yards a game, 40-50 points a game, and 40 first downs a game good enough for you????another fan okay with 18 years of mediocre BS

I suggest a D that is decimated by injury.

There are times when i hear about a Cowboy making a tackle and I go "Who is that?" That is how bad it has gotten.

Kiffen did not draft this defensive team. He just keep making phone calls to players sitting at home to ensure there are enough bodies to fill out a roster.

Too, picture this: Spencer and Ratliff deciding they had better things to do. All teams half injuries. Rarely does a defensive team half such a revolving door.

I really don't know what Ryan has ever accomplished to be considered a Defensive Guru. He was never able to implement any kind of system here and I had no problem with letting him go. He is doing a decent job this year in NO but the NYJ ran all over them last week and outsmarting the Cowboy offense is no great feat.

Ryan's defense was just as bad

Thank you!!! Man people have short memories. What happened to the great rob Ryan's defense in Seattle last year when the Seahawks had 2 90 yard drives in the 2nd half. They basically took the cowboys manhood away. What about the giants game at home last year. Ryan's defense blew an 11pt lead. WR's were running free all night long.

The Commanders game last thanksgiving. RG3 made it his own personal playground on Ryan's defense. Too many times his defense look confused, players out of position, miscommunication, and fundamental breakdowns everywhere.

Now everyone wants to annoint him as the savior of the saints. He'll get exposed eventually. Rob is just like the rest of his family alot of bluster, little results!!

Do you really think Rob could do better with all the guys out right now? He had injuries last year but not near what they do this year.

"Hopefully we can make it look good, but I have all the feelings that you have when you want to look back at a decision, and I realize when some of them work you have to have a few things go along with it," Jones continued about the decision to fire Ryan.

Put the whiskey down Grandpa. If this is brilliance that comes out of mind of a 40 year old, I weep for my future.

Funny, I dont remember Rob giving up 40 first downs in a game.

I also dont remember Rob allowing 5 400 yard passers (I am counting Brees since he was 8 yards short when Payton called the dogs off and pulled him).

Please point out which games last year this happened.

Well I wonder if Greg Robinson will be available soon. If not I think Pasqualoni might be available.

On a serious note. Yeah it was pretty bad last year after the injuries...Just in different areas. But the bottom line is not to compare the two because both of them were/are unacceptable.

It is like comparing two piles of dog crap and trying to figure out which is better.

The white poop is best.

Jerry was overheard saying that he is saving a great deal of money from the cafeteria now that Ryan is gone and grampa munster eats like a bird.

2013 points per game 25.8
2012 points per game 25

PPG is the stat by which a defense should be judged.

Like I said in another thread, I dont want to hear this the day after Sean Payton called off the dogs. They could have scored 70 last night, but he took pity on his former employers.

You think, Jerry? We got embarrassed on Prime Time, and this 'great offense' only put up 17 points against your scape goat. Oh, and your replacement ended up giving 49 points and 625 yards to go along with it. Good job Jerry, you went to a bad defense, to one of the worst in the history of the NFL!

Though, I guess "it's a process".
