I just don't think he understands that the fans see right thru the BS about the offensive ranking, the defensive ranking and the 'we are not really a 1-4' team speech.

It's just about deflection.

Look over here and don't look at the wins and losses people!

The rest of this season is all about the players. Are they tired of being the dumb but very talented team who can't get out of their own way and win hard fought football games?

I really hope the answer to that question is a big fat yes. And I hope it's answered emphatically against the Giants.

On one hand, the team cannot be content with their rankings, stats etc... Ultimately it is nothing but hollow accomplishments minus the W's

What is encouraging about our high rankings is that the team is capable of turning it around. That only goes so far, but it is a ray, however slim, of hope for this bunch.

whats the point in ragging on Jerry does it make people feel better?

The man trys to lift the teams spirits up, and point out to them that they still have a shot. But people are not satisfied with that! I guess Jerry needed to go in there and tell them all that they stunk up the field, and they are the worst 1-4 team in history maybe thats what fans want to hear. Like it or not Jerry is a spokesman for the team.

Being positive is great behind closed doors, but when your doing a national interview for ESPN you better keep it real. Look, stats are for losers. The only stat that counts is the scoreboard.

Why didn't Jerry mention were 2nd worst in the league in penalties. How about this stat, is a 66 percent kicker worthy of even kicking in the NFL. Name me one team in the NFL that has a kicker so dreadful. How about having a defense that can create turnovers and in every loss you've lost the turnover battle. Also your special team coverage have Been poor. Those are the stats that count. There is no positive spin on a 1-4 record, none.

I approve of this post

Jerry on Wade Phillips "He's the man for the job....for right now"

Would that be considered an endorsement?

Or does it mean he's the coach the rest of this season and fired as soon as it's over?

Fans want to selectively focus on what Jerry has said and turn it into a negative context. Same applies to Phillips and Garrett for that matter. According to Ware when Jerry had that meeting he was not happy go lucky about matters. He stated the team was trying hard, players do a great job but that it comes down to winning the game that in effect if you play smart team ball and if you do so with focus the Cowboys will win games.

I think we all know the answer to this.

Jerry's pretty much the utter optimist, I dont know what people expected him to say only 5 games into the season. That we suck and the end is near? I'm sure he wants the players to know he hasnt given up (publicly) even if in private, he is breaking stuff and cussing like there's no tomorrow.

I agree.

I think he's privately putting together a list of replacement candidates.

I honestly wouldnt be all that surprised if he has already had discussions with some of those on the potential list.

I've always been pretty neutral regarding Jerry but he is really starting to lose his mind. Everything is about him, I picked these coaches. I picked these players. I put the pieces in place. I'm the owner and general manager.

It really is all about him.

We're 2-4!! Remember, we won our bye week game! [/sarcasm]

I can't listen to it at work, but this really concerns me.

I'm guessing he's determining offensive ranking by yards gained, which is a ridiculously awful statistic to judge an offense. And that also means that he's sticking up for Garrett, which isn't good.

I don't have a problem with somebody saying that this team is better than a 1-4 team because I think we have far more talent than a 1-4 team should ever have. However, it should be more in reference to 'we have too much talent to be 1-4 right now and if we don't straighten things out, I'll be making changes.'

Not to toot my own horn, but I'm usually about as good as it gets at decoding what Jerry is going to do and this really sounds to me that he's going to hire Garrett as HC if the team fails to make the playoffs this year.
