I am surprised no one has brought this up. When Dallas picked at 22 they should have taken Jenkins. Jones would have been there at 28 and they would not have to have given a 5 and 7 to move up to 25. What a STUPID move!!!!

And they should have taken Mendenhall. This is Steven Jackson, again. Is Jerry ever going to learn. Drafting a backup in the first is a sin.

It's true. We could very well have given up on the next Rob Petitti. Why Jerry? Why?

You may not have noticed, but immediately after we selected Jones, the Steelers selected Mendenhall and the Titans selected Chris Johnson.

Now, unless the Titans intend to make Johnson a WR, common sense would tell you they wanted a gamebreaking RB there.

Common sense should then tell you that Tennessee would have taken Jones. If they hadn't, Houston probably would have.

Bottom line - no way would Jones have been there at 28.

You obviously were not paying attention, to the draft either. Because Tennessee desperately wanted Felix Jones, but when we took him they reached for the next best game breaking RB prospect they could find. We draft Mike Jenkins, we have ZERO shot at getting Felix Jones.

Dallas knew Tenn was coveting Felix Jones because they called them about a possible trade up from 28 and found out they were interested in a RB. Thats why they took Jones at 22. This has been confirmed by Norm on the ticket.

Or Mendenhall either. Then Jerry would have traded the 28th into the second round, but how far back? He will recoup a 5th rd. pick, somehow...BOOK IT!!

From John Clayton's Winners and Losers from yesterday...

Tennessee Titans: Running back Chris Johnson is lightning fast, but he's not Felix Jones or Rashard Mendenhall. The Titans got a bad break when Jones and Mendenhall went to the Cowboys and Steelers at No. 22 and No. 23, respectively. Most teams knew the Titans, who picked at No. 24, were leaning toward taking a running back.

Jones was their guy and they had to be tempted by Mendenhall

Ditto your exactly! If guys take a second to look at what happened, you'd notice that Dallas correctly predicted a run on RBs immediately after their pick. Do you really think CJ would have been picked if Felix was still on the board. Dallas got the order correct. They got both players that they wanted. If they would have chosen Jenkins 1st, they would have had to settle for CJ or Jamaal "puke" Charles.

You clearly do not understand why we drafted those two players.

It was the right move by Jerry. We would have missed out on Jones, Johnson, and Mendenhall.

So take chris Johnson at 28, he would have been a similar vompliment to Barber perhaps. The only reason to die it Felix is gone at 28 is if you made up your mind on taking him no matter what, which is a stupid way to draft. But its over now, nothing we can do.

How? 25, 26 and 27 would have all had to be RB's if that's the case, the fact that the Seahawks were willing to trade out means they probably weren't interested in a RB, so you are thinking the Texans wanted a RB too?

Moving up from #28 to #25 neutered Jerry's ability to make a move forward in Round 2.

That's not trivial, given how the best players available at #61 didn't mesh well with the Cowboys needs.

So yeah, it's great that Jerry got his guys in the first round, but it came at a cost.
