Jerry Jones to make more sideline trips?

I'd try anything at this point. I used to hate this. But this pressure for our coaches doesn't sound so bad now.

I do not see it as "pressure" in the least. It would be about as effective as him saying how people would be taken to the woodshed or made to feel "uncomfortable".

He is far too complacent to impose any kind of pressure as long as he feels the team is relevant.

Arthur Blank is a passive owner who hired a real GM, Jerry Jones, is a vainglorious underminer of coaching authority. Big difference.

I find all the "stupid fan base" demagoguery really hilarious. 99% of the posters that use this weak circumvention of the personal attack rule (you are really saying that the poster(s) that you are replying to are stupid without getting caught) are invariably defending a failed front office that has wheeled out more mediocrity than any other for almost two decades.

funny and vaingloriously misinformed

What difference does it makes if he is out there or not.

He has already ruined this team by controlling virtually every aspect of it. Might as well add another act to the circus show with him roaming the sidelines.

Kind of interesting.

Can any of you envision a scenario where Jones literally overrules Garrett, especially if it gets to a clock management situation at the end of the game?

You mean like he did in this photo? Remember when this happened while the game was taking place against the Eagles in 2011?

Wow I had forgot about that one.

I agree, but what can we do? The team is Jerry's hobby. We all have hobbies and we like to enjoy them and immerse ourselves in them. Thats what Jerry does. He loves his hobby.

I wish he'd find another hobby. Chasing Bigfoot, bungee jumping, oil painting. Storm chasing. You know he can be the guy who volunteers to put the wind measuring device right in the middle of that F5.

Broaden your horizon Jerry!

That's one thing that never bothered me. His team. His field. *shrug*
Does not shock me one bit that you would respond like this. Actually, I have not read the entire thread, and I am going to guess all the "Mods" responded like this. Of course it is his team. Of course he can do what he wants. AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!! But hey, it's not a problem if being mediocre is what you like as a fan.

So Jerry will be able to discern between someone what wants to win as opposed to someone who does not by roaming the sidelines? So there it is folks. No need for scouts, film study, practice etc......Jerry's keen eye will tell him all he needs to know. And don't think for ONE second that he is joking...this is NOT the first time he has informed us of 'why" he is on the sidelines. Heck he has worked injured players out before the games to see if they were ready to play.

I am sure most of you Jerry defenders are intelligent. I have to ask, what would he have to do for you to 'question' his ability to build a Super Bowl winner?

And just think, he's 10% crazier now.

It might help. Remember this scene when everyone in the Jones family including Charlotte and Spalding knew to call a timeout but Jason didn't?

Well, if you read the thread, I'm probably the only mod who has posted in the thread. I'm a fan just like any of you and want to win. I just don't get up in arms about everything either. The reality for me is I know that my opinion on a messageboard will not affect any change within the Cowboys organization. So yeah, I don't care if Jerry goes down to the field and stands on the sidelines.

And contrary to popular belief, we don't all agree when it comes to the Cowboys. It's hilarious that you would even think so. I'm not the spokesperson for the staff. lol

Oh how I am not surprised at your stance. I'm not sure I've defended Jerry. I just don't have an issue with him going on the sidelines. I'm focused on what's going on on the field and what the players are doing than I am with Jerry. And I don't see how him going on the sidelines has anything to do with his ability to build a roster.
