Jerry Lewis RIP

I always liked Jerry Lewis and enjoyed his telethons. He did some good comic work too. Too many yrs since he has been active.
I went door to door and sold aluminum cans throughout my entire childhood raising money for MD. My cousin was taken by the disease many years ago and I'll always appreciate what Jerry did for those kids.
I'll never forget when I was in HS, I tore up my knee and was standing on the sidelines with a couple of other injured players, a coach came by and called us Jerry's kids. I ripped him a new arsehole!

I hear you. Its an incredible malady the mother is the carrier and can only pass it along to unborn males.
I new a young family many years ago that had 3 boys in a 4 yr period and every one of them had MD...did not learn they had it until the oldest turned 5yrs old and developed the first symtoms. All perished before age 18. Tragic..heartbreaking.

He was my favorite as a kid when it came to making me laugh, him and Phyllis Diller.
Our little burg in stickville held an annual telethon in September for muscular dystrophy,,, I remember a very young and up and coming Reba McEntire performing there one year,,,
91 is full of years
R.I.P.

He was Jim Carey 70 years ago. In addition to the physical comedy, he was also a very good dancer. He's got two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is a god in France. Their government has given him two separate awards for his work, 22 years apart. Oh... and he helped raise about $1.5B to find a cure for MD.

The guy was a giant and I think since he's been out of the limelight for many years, he's under-appreciated. No knock on guys like Prince and Robbin Williams, but they weren't in the same class as Lewis.

Have you ever seen the black and white(nsfw) photographs of one of his girlfriends? Utterly unique in proportion is an understatement.

Jerry outlived the crew by many, many years.

Dean Martin
Frank Sinatra
Sammy Davis jr
Etc etc

I was talking about that entire group from the Golden Age of Hollywood as well as TV but you're right. Olivia de Havilland is still with us. So is Loren but she came later. Poitier, Lansbury, Douglas and Day are still with us among others.
