You have to give Jerry (GM) credit - he is a survivor. He knows when fans are almost at breaking point and then makes big splash at coaching spots. In 2002 he was under pressure as fans were talking about boycott the games and then hires Bill Parcells for 2003 season.

If you look at HC changes since Tom Landry the average HC for Dallas Cowboys is about 3 years. Scary stat if thats your line of work. Seven HC coaches during Jerry reign (22 years). Tom Landry was sole HC of Dallas for 28 years.

With Jerry temporarily running out of mulligans for head coaching change (Garrett just completing his second full NFL season), he does next best thing and goes after the high profiled defensive coordinator. Why not, its has worked well in past. Turn discussion and dislike toward the departed coordinator. Its shame fans keep taking the bait. Maybe Lovie Smith, Horton or others won't want to be apart of that 'process".

I'm sorry but when the there is thread after thread of Jerry needs to fire himself or we need a new GM not just now but through out the season then how exactly is the diversion working?

Landry was there 29 years but whatever...

This is the way it goes in sports now... win now or walk.

It's called the double switchback, over-under, diverting diversion tactic.

This offseason is looking to be more than a diversion, especially if an OC is brought in.

Well, Jerrah did something. We all wanted change, right? How many more 12 men on the field penalties can you take? The hippie man had to take the fall.

Yeah..... I don't think it is working. :laugh2:

I always love the talk about critics call themselfs realist so lets get real.

Jerry is going to fire himself? Yeah, not going to happen.

So people can keep on with their pipe dreams or be the realist they claim and move on from this notion.

Rob Ryan defensive team still was out of place and had no disclipline. He deserved to be canned.

I was going to post something similar last night. Fans are starting to lose interest and Jerry needs to bring them back - what's even better than a HC change? Fire the DC...switch defensive schemes completely...changes focus on new AC hires and how we approach the draft. This will get fans more emotionally involved again... I have to say it's worked a little on me so far.

He's the master at keeping things interesting... at least he tries.

I'm always interested because I'm a Cowboys fans, win or lose I'm a hardcore fan. Those who choose not to watch go for it, I can't be a part time fan for me I'm all in.
