Cowboys owner Jerry Jones when asked on @1053thefan about Deion Sanders' coaching future in the NFL: "I think we're way ahead of ourselves relative to when and if he decides to go into coaching in the NFL.

"One of his greatest skills, that he really brings to college, is that he almost has no peer as far as being a recruiter. Kids want to come play for him. And he has a way of selling that. That is one skill, that recruiting skill, that is not a huge prerequisite for NFL coaches. One of his greatest values is in that area of putting the team together and getting great talent to come play for him there at Colorado.

"All of that would go into your mind. But make no mistake about it, he's one of the top people, young and old, that I've been around in the NFL."

I think Jerry would really like to make Jason Witten the Head Coach but not with no college or pro experience. It's too soon for him now.

Don't rule out Jerry giving him the Jason Garrett treatment and bringing him in to be a part of the next staff in some fashion to groom him for the future.

Learn from Belichick and eventually be his successor.

Jerry spitting facts on this one. Prime will have a much greater influence on the college level, but I'm not betting against him if he wants to make the jump.
Deion's just getting started at Colorado. He just landed a 5 Star QB to replace Sheddeur next year.

lol. It is hard pinning those cats running around inside his head but I have an even stronger feeling now pro-Deion Sanders to Dallas hopefuls will not get what they are expecting.

$50+ next season. Easily up to $100 with 1-2 restructures and can get even more releasing Steele, Wilson, Hooker etc
Not saying you're wrong as I've heard multiple people suggest the same thing, I'm just confused where that money is coming from. Spotrac projects the 2025 cap to be around $273M and the Cowboys right now are sitting at $270M for 2025.

Not asking you to do all the math, but is this just based on the expectation that Dak/Lamb will get restructured or is there another big contract move I'm just overlooking?

Jerry and Deion could never co-exist as owner/coach. It's just not possible.

Interesting that Colorado just got a commitment today from one of the top QB recruits in the country who was once a USC commit. Not sure Deion has the intention to pull the rug out from under this kid after working so hard to flip him. I guess Jerry could be persuasive if he really wanted to be tbough.
