- Only one receiver in this draft that could step in and take heat off Terrell.

- We think the right tight end could make a defense be honest. Bennett has a long way to go but absolutely can do some things for a guy his size. He could play at 275 with his speed.

- Wanted Hardy, but decided not to. Also thought about trading up for Bennett, but he fell to us.

- Still exploring WR option. Sending out smoke signals, but you try not to tamper. Detroit wasn't trading RW. Never talked with the other two clubs. They've gotta come to you. Can't really say any more.

- We got our wow factor in Felix Jones. We have a "makeup" aspect of picking a player. Has work ethic and ambition. Has the makeup to help you win a game. He weighed 210 today. Joe thinks he can play at 212. Can run inside. Sees all the cars in traffic. Could run the ball 25 times a game. Not even a blink as to choose Mendenhall over Felix. He's a big back. You have to teach him some. He's a real load coupled with Barber. Felix gives you better change of direction and bigger plays.

- Didn't think it'd be there to trade both 1s to get McFadden. I kept it alive in my mind. I probably wouldn't have made the trade, but you never know. It might have been too tempting if he fell.

- I really believe Pacman is intelligent. It's fair to question him, but this is really is -- he's paid a price. He's in trouble financially. Sometimes those people are the best to be in a fox hole with (i.e., people on their last chance).

- Know about recent story before? I don't want to get into, but nothing has suprised me. I'm informed.

- I knew we were the one team bidding for Adam. His agent told us that. The alternative was for Tennessee to keep him. It didn't "redflag" it to me that no one else was interested. If I did what everyone else did, you wouldn't get ahead. No one was standing in line to get Charles Haley.

- Nothing has been decided as to the AT&T naming rights deal. Shouldn't speculate on it. It'll be "neat." But there's no deal in place.

- High pricing is only for a fraction of the seating available. We've sold 8000 of those 15000 special seats since Thanksgiving. Selling has been better than expected.

Apparently you need to offer more than a bologna sandwich Jerry. Maybe Mongo likes ham?

Interesting that he never talked with the other 2 clubs. Maybe Mongo felt he was too locked in and he could drive the price up?

I would also like to note that he said they have to come to you. Meaning Detroit did. Which is exactly what I've been saying.

Hos, lets say that the Lions uses the franchise tag on RW next year, think the Cowboys would still sign him and consider it a trade...RW for a 1st and 3rd.? Or do you believe that a trade could still happen before then?

If we don't have another receiver step up this year (and assuming Roy does his thing this year) ... I'd do it.

I don't for one minute believe the Lions want to use that Tag on him. If no team trades for him they have to pay him the average of the top 5 WRs in the NFL. I like Roy Williams but he is not one of the top 5 WRs in the NFL. I don't think they will take that risk.

That's been my argument all along. While Mendenhall might have a very similar 40 time... Jones can simply blow his doors off in the open field with his change of direction. He can flat out embarass defenders while you really didn't see that from Mendenhall.

I liked both backs but Felix fits here perfectly with Marion. Better than Mendenhall, IMO.

No one was standing in line to get Charles Haley.

Precisely. Pacman is well worth the gamble.
