It’s interesting what fame and billions do to our perceptions. If I didn’t know who this was and saw this old man looking like this - with the grizzled beard, the ill-fitting clothes and slurred speech, I might think he was a sad, homeless man needing some help.

A few years ago I was driving one evening to go out to eat with my wife. She is not a Cowboys fan and knows almost nothing about the team. Jerry Jones was speaking on one of his too numerous radio appearances. When my wife heard what he was saying she exclaimed, “Who is that weird man talking about the Cowboys?” She had no idea who it was. When I told her it was the owner of the Cowboys she said, “That man makes no sense.”

By now I think most Cowboys agree with my wife.
Indeed. Jerry and the Jones family need to step down.

“Step right up folks. Don’t believe your lying eyes. Believe ME!”
Right!!

Where have we seen this type of hyperbole leadership before. Don’t follow the facts believe in me. Typical narcissist behavior.

Jerry thinks he is a jedi, and is trying to use the old mind trick thing.
I think it works on some of the people.

Jerry is in denial lol, and if it wasnt a concern, he wouldnt address it. And no one would ask questions about it if it wasnt true.

He would have made a great used car salesman !

Jerry Jones on the lack of fans so far at Cowboys Training Camp: “I look at the crowds just like you do, and I don’t exactly relate a crowd to the date - but the crowd we had out here Opening Day out here looked every bit like the crowd that we’ve become accustomed to out here. I, too, have seen some afternoons when they weren’t totally full out here, but I know this - from the standpoint of the traffic jams out here, and the miles and miles of people trying to get in, that looks like you’re gonna come out here, and there will be 100,000 people. But there’s just so much to what’s going on around here, that that hasn’t been something that should concern us.”

I get the sense that fan morale is at a long time low.

I feel it as a fan for the past several decades. I used to get a buzz this time of the year anticipating the new season. It's not there this year.

Yes, I still care. But there is such a feeling of indifference now. Really hard to describe.

Right there with you. Trying to figure it out myself.

I can’t want them to lose, but I also know that change isn’t coming unless things get to rock bottom.

Despite their best attempts to pass the current situation as being “close” to at least a deep playoff run, management has proven they can’t identify what’s needed to get the team over the top and when to go that route, and the culture is not at all conducive to winning in the playoffs. This isn’t about bad luck.

Ive never been blind to all that, but always held out hope for the blind squirrel thing. I can’t anymore.

Well said Dandy. Interestingly, that’s exactly what he’s selling now - a “used car”. A team living more off its past than the present or the future.
