We could see some micro gains IF:

1. We get a decent, hard-nosed, modern HC and Offensive system that overhauls the putrid offense we are running now

2. We hit on multiple draft picks in 2025 and get gains on ‘23 and ‘24 draftees more than we have seen to date (especially’23 smh)

3. We create decent cap flexibility through cuts that allow some additions of several solid FAs

4. We deploy a creative and savvy defensive coordinator that can get the most out of that side of the roster since it is under-funded

5. Focus on running the ball with a great RB so Dak is given every conceivable help so he can play at his best

6. Overhaul a complacent, individualistic, passive culture so that there is an ethos of work, preparation, and a commitment to fundamentals

7. Injured guys return to form, and we avoid the injury plague

Even then— the macro issues of JJ and the FO remain, so any success that would occur would be IN SPITE of them, not because of them.

The constant distractions, drama, and focus on everything BUT football won’t leave until the Jones family leaves Dallas— but, do the above and we might see a more competitive team next year.
Can Jerry afford Micah Parsons?

We weren't winning more than 6 games this year with Dak. Now that he's gone, we'll get a slightly higher draft pick. But this team isn't going to magically turn it around through the draft and or trading for some players with their best days behind them. I don't see them changing course anytime soon.
Draft is great, but this team has so many needs you'd need to hit big on their top 3 draft picks for at least 2 years in a row to make a real difference. Not only do the Cowboys need to replace draft busts like Mazi, they will need to replace Martin, because he'll retire, Lawrence because they won't want to pay an aging player, etc.

Only way to get this team back into promence is to trade Parsons for some good draft picks and not re-sign any marginal players and start over from scratch.

But Jerry won't do that, he can't stand poor records, he'd rather go 10-7 and squeak into the playoffs as a wild card, e.g.

No doubt, he seems demented at this point, but his family won't do anything because they're waiting like vultures for his final demise to collect the inheritance.
Yes, and the worse the team gets the better it will look once Jerry is no longer in control, they can point with pride to the team going 10-7 instead of 5-12...

No real difference. the vast majority of the seats are season tickets/seat licenses, Jerry gets paid whether fans are in the seats or sitting at home.

Bags are just as embarrassing as empty seats...

Both Jerry & Stephen sorely need to change their ways about managing their veteran free agency decisions. Constantly electing to reserve their choices for tier 3 players really isn't "feeding the bulldog." There's not a doubt that they'll also be signing a new HC in the offseason. He'd best be a promising young one with a creative offensive mind to bolster their offense. An experienced, but fairly young DC could work out well, also.

One new sales idea for the Jones empire: Create a 30 year commemorative patch - “30 years with no divisional playoff win; $10 billion in value”. Just to stick it to critics. They could literally make money off their incompetence.
