Jerry on the Parsons contract

Rather pay more and get it right??

What’s that mean? As if there’s a shot you don’t resign him?

If he gets injured you’re still going to sign him at or above market value. See: Steele, Gallup.

Seriously he just wants the attention it gets by dragging it and wants to hold on to the 60-80 million in up front money to invest elsewhere.

Doesn’t give a crap whatsoever about cap room because they aren’t going to spend on outside guys anyway. Just give more to the guys who have already proven to not be enough.

He's a conman. No way in hell he wants to pay more. He's lost his cookies. He's a distraction for the real negotiating.

I am.......not shocked but....... frustrated. Don't want to say much more about this at this time.

Actually I heard the whole thing on the radio.

he's saying he's offered him a couple contracts that were very fair and said the agent now get in the middle of Parsons word,

you remember the word where he said he didn't need to be the highest paid non quarterback?!!!!!!:angry:
you remember that? you remember those words???
I'm betting he was offered between 39.5 and $40 million a year and rejected it..
. the agents holding this up I knew it was the agent holding it up but hey Bob and art and everybody on here keep saying it's Jerry,
him trying to get it right, meaning negotiating,
trying to find a compromise, not paying Max value and resetting the market, but in the end, he's saying if it ends up being that way that he'll end up paying it..
but he's trying to get the best deal possible you all can read what you want into it but I heard what he said, and you could twist it up because Jerry doesn't know how to be concise, but I do

Parsons lied or his agent backtracked,

either way they're trying to get more money than the last contract signed by skilled players he said he wasn't gonna do it that's what he said he didn't need to be the highest paid non quarterback but he lied where is the agent made him backtrack either way it's the agent in persons holding up these negotiations period end of story..

So all those saying Jerry's been waiting not getting this done fast enough contracts have been offered I heard it on the radio the latest deal that I heard they're going over with the agent right now is him getting close to the last player got I don't know what it is was it jamar chase that kind of money is coming down that means Parsons and his agent lied they've been holding this up the whole time think what you want hate who you wan....y this is on the agent and the player.. Degree just settles in just like usual you said the right thing but you did the opposite.

He needs more time to "get it right"?

Its cute that Jerry thinks that any of us believe that he's not made his mind up on Parsons and that he's not gonna make him one of the highest paid non-quarterbacks.

People say that Jones should be a politician.....I disagree because he's not as good as liar as they are
I think he actually WANTS to give out the biggest contract. To me he seemed proud of overpaying Prescott.

Another thing for people to talk about. Not sure how much longer the lack of results on the field they can get away with, but it doesn’t seem as if maximizing cap space is anywhere near as important as the attention he will get over dragging it out. For him it’s well worth the cost. For us, not so much, but again…they weren’t investing the savings in the team anyway.

Well stephen's tight with money, maybe when Jerry does go on, Stephen will be like those owners who don't like to give out big deals

Doesn't equate to him being a mensa member or football guy, just depends on what killing it means . Lol. With Jerry, it could mean all sorts of things.
Killing it means having a Net Worth of at least $17B. Killing it means having a yacht that is the length of a football field. Killing it means having a $20M helicopter and a fleet of 3 private jets. That’s a pretty good start to Killing it.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry........smdh :facepalm::facepalm:

Said no one ever.
That's because that's not what he meant he's saying in the end if that's what it comes down to then then he'll pay it..

My guess this is probably more so Jerry marketing than anything, but it does make you wonder if there is any truth to some of the trade rumors we heard earlier this offseason?

Yeah, I think Jerry also uses these contracts as excuses when the team isn't successful and to cast blame on those who have these large contracts since they should do more cause they are getting paid more. So what if the rest of the team is mid and JAGs. Big money players should make the whole team better regardless

Jerry is the GM, thus he is always the reason deals are held up. Crying because a player wont take a team friendly deal doesn't change that. The price on players is always going to go up as teams wait.

You can use Micahs words against him, but what have the Cowboys done to show any player that they should consider taking less money? Did they go out and spend significant money this offseason? If I'm Micah I would probably backtrack on what I said too. I mean you had players actively trying to recruit Cooper Kupp only for Jerry & Stephen to say its too much money.

He also uses these mega deals to give the impression they are spending a ton of money, but really they pay these record contracts and then its an excuse to not pay other players in free agency and let mid tier guys walk for comp picks.

Last years offseason was the perfect example....tell the fans all offseason that Dak/Lamb's cap number is why you cant sign guys, only to extend them at the last possible moment to open up a plethora of cap space.

Agreed, doesn't even matter what Micah or his agent said because the fact of the matter is, Micah asked to get it when season ended and he would be open to a team friendly deal. Like stated above, since no true upgrades happened and Jerry took his sweet time, why should Parsons go back to what he said and hold firm on that now? I don't see anything wrong with Parson getting as much as he can at this point cause he knows it's gonna be status quo.

That's fair. If Parsons is balking too much, then I think they should be shopping him for trades if Parsons isn't playing ball.

I doubt that. Jerry would never let a player like him walk away.

Similar to his salary cost going up as time moves along, his trade value diminishes as he gets closer to the rookie deal expiring. Make a decision either way.

I really don’t know what he thinks is going to change for his benefit, but as I said elsewhere, holding onto the bonus money and the attention the whole thing gets has got to be part of it.

If I know Jerry he isn’t forking over a 70m check without some fanfare, or whatever one wants to call it.
