Exactly, and, if it's really that bad negotiating with Parsons, then, well, we are a few weeks away from the draft. We can always trade Parsons.

he's saying he's offered him a couple contracts that were very fair and said the agent now get in the middle of Parsons word,

Parsons lied or his agent backtracked,

either way they're trying to get more money than the last contract signed by skilled players he said he wasn't gonna do it that's what he said he didn't need to be the highest paid non quarterback but he lied where is the agent made him backtrack either way it's the agent in persons holding up these negotiations period end of story..

So all those saying Jerry's been waiting not getting this done fast enough contracts have been offered I heard it on the radio the latest deal that I heard they're going over with the agent right now is him getting close to the last player got I don't know what it is was it jamar chase that kind of money is coming down that means Parsons and his agent lied they've been holding this up the whole time think what you want hate who you wan....y this is on the agent and the player.. Degree just settles in just like usual you said the right thing but you did the opposite.

Yeah Parsons and his agent said that before the season was over and if the deal got done quickly. Would have benefited the Cowboys and Parsons to get it over with, but Jerry took his sweet time so the market has changed now. Why should Parsons stick to his words at this point when he saw the same thing happen last year? He might as well get as much as he can cause he knows, even with massive cap space, Jerry isn't going to improve the team enough to win anything this year.

When it over, it’ll be the largest non QB deal in history and Jerry will subsequently tell you that no one else could have gotten that done….and actually believe it.
 
“Get it right “? What the hell does that even mean in this context?

From the team’s perspective “getting it right” could likely mean getting it done early so he doesn’t reset the market and gives you some cap flex to add some other players this year.

From the player’s perspective— “getting it right” likely means getting paid his market value and getting it done quickly because he is seen as a valued piece of the franchise.

I just don’t see how waiting and dragging this out benefits anyone. You end up paying more, you make it a miserable experience for the player and fans, and you lose any momentum in terms of adding cap flex to make any relevant moves to position your team for a run.

I really don’t know what he thinks is going to change for his benefit, but as I said elsewhere, holding onto the bonus money and the attention the whole thing gets has got to be part of it.

If I know Jerry he isn’t forking over a 70m check without some fanfare, or whatever one wants to call it.

Yeah I think this is the much larger factor here...He probably has to fork over a lot more than $70M for Parsons this year too. Revenue sharing checks typically dont get to teams until Mid summer and I bet he would much rather pay Micah out of that money than dip into some of his investments. Added bonus is he gets the media talking about the Cowboys yet again.
 
I was glad to see Jerry finally reveal his reason for taking so long for his contract signings. What was not surprising, at all, to see was that his reasoning was just as foolish as I anticipated it'd be.

No he didn't he said it like a month ago literally when this offseason started and free agency was in progress let's not try to stick up for a player I don't care if you hope that he gets everything he should I'm saying Jerry's not holding this up because Jerry offered him a couple that were fair top five money should be all these players expect I like the guy he is a top five pass rusher in this league but he's not the best since when has he led the league in sacks let me know his big moment games in the playoffs like you said above he should be the best if he wants to be paid the best he's not impacting the games that much to be demanding to reset the market to the highest paid skill player in the league that's the new narrative that I don't like I'm sorry yes get all you can but also be fair... In my opinion his range was always gonna be between 36 and 40 million but now it looks like even though he said he'd be happy taking around 40 it might end up being 42,000,000 and he's the one and his agent holding this process up and yet everybody on here says Jerry's not getting it done fast enough and it's also a false narrative that he would have took less money at the end of last year you don't know that you're not his agent you're not in the NFL pool of agents you don't represent Micah Parsons in these greedy players they know the market just like Wall Street knows the market they're not gonna settle for less if they think all they have to do is wait three months and they can get four more million a year why would you not wait you're telling me they've been happy taking it early for what what good reason they have not to wait and push it as far as they can they get as much as they can because they know other players are gonna keep signing they will do this on purpose why would Jerry wanna pay more money explain to me why he would drag this out on purpose you can't explain it's rhetorical nobody wants to pay more in the end he might have to pay more because the player and agent would not play ball early that's a fact that I don't need proof because they would've got the deal done already had they took $39 million which is all they really should ask for is a 39.5 isn't that lamb's contract you try to tell me that Parsons is more important to this team than lamb?
 
Lol, I took the same approach with my roof and now the materials cost 20% more over last year. Should have thrown Jerry's book about leverage and the art of waiting away. :banghead:
