Jerry on the Parsons contract

Wait and pay more, lol, when was the last time that worked to the benefit of the team? What a MORON
Even more crazy to hear a business person say that. My CFO friends would keel over if that's how things ran.

They stopped caring about winning championships years ago. They just want to do what's easy and enough to be in playoff contention. Keeps the fanbase hopes alive, drives sales, him and the players are happy.

“No one has shown me the answer on how to get to the Super Bowl”.
So he must have forgotten about Jimmy Johnson. Also if no one has shown you the answer to get to the Super Bowl then hire someone!! It’s in the budget, you got the money.

That’s what I would have said that would have gotten me fired.

Actually I heard the whole thing on the radio.

he's saying he's offered him a couple contracts that were very fair and said the agent now get in the middle of Parsons word,

you remember the word where he said he didn't need to be the highest paid non quarterback?!!!!!!:angry:
you remember that? you remember those words???
I'm betting he was offered between 39.5 and $40 million a year and rejected it..
. the agents holding this up I knew it was the agent holding it up but hey Bob and art and everybody on here keep saying it's Jerry,
him trying to get it right, meaning negotiating,
trying to find a compromise, not paying Max value and resetting the market, but in the end, he's saying if it ends up being that way that he'll end up paying it..
but he's trying to get the best deal possible you all can read what you want into it but I heard what he said, and you could twist it up because Jerry doesn't know how to be concise, but I do

Parsons lied or his agent backtracked,

either way they're trying to get more money than the last contract signed by skilled players he said he wasn't gonna do it that's what he said he didn't need to be the highest paid non quarterback but he lied where is the agent made him backtrack either way it's the agent in persons holding up these negotiations period end of story..

So all those saying Jerry's been waiting not getting this done fast enough contracts have been offered I heard it on the radio the latest deal that I heard they're going over with the agent right now is him getting close to the last player got I don't know what it is was it jamar chase that kind of money is coming down that means Parsons and his agent lied they've been holding this up the whole time think what you want hate who you wan....y this is on the agent and the player.. Degree just settles in just like usual you said the right thing but you did the opposite.
After all these years shouldn’t Jerry Jones be one of the best at getting his players signed? Saying you don’t know Micah’s agent’s name when he is on of your star players, has been with you four season and has the same agent as he did when he came into the league.

Jerry Jones doesn’t know the agent’s name? If Jerry is posturing he deserves to be taken to the cleaners on this contract. If Jerry is really so stupid he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with, Micah should ask to be traded. He’s wasting his career playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

It's amazing we win any games at all. You can't even be mad at a 3 win season at this point. Look who's driving this clown car.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Micah Parsons’ contract situation: “I don’t view it as urgent, at all.” On waiting: “I’d rather pay more and get it right.”

Please Somebody make that make sense…

One does not simply make that make sense. Because it doesn't make sense.

2 options:
Pay more and get it right
Pay less and get it wrong

Using only that logic, I would choose the pay more as well. But I don’t see how that logic applies if he plans to keep Parsons.

However if he thought there might be a chance of a trade or draft night deal, he could view exploring that to it’s conclusion as “getting it right”, even if it doesn’t materialize and ends up costing more money. That’s the only logical way the statement makes sense to me.

At the end of the day, I think it’s Jerry being Jerry.

What other GM gets to say we haven't achieved our goal, or even getting back the NFC championship, but we have lots of other things we are proud of (as he did in this video)??? Therein lies the problem. The GM of the Dallas Cowboys lacks the razor focus and singularity necessary to excel at any craft. He is a brilliant jack of all trades. Genius level. But his pride in various accomplishments keeps him from seeing his absolute failure at accomplishing the task at hand for 30 consecutive years.

Nobody has mentioned the comment that bugged me the most. Jerry said:

“No one has shown me the answer on how to get to the Super Bowl”.

I would get fired as a reporter because my next question would have been “but based on 30 years of futility, shouldn’t you know what not to do to make it to even a conference championship”?
Well that's on you Jerry....stop employing: family member and sycophants.

.....its means Dak2 type of contract.

To be fair his cognitive degeneration is just about reliving last years fiasco with Dak.....Jerry's a man who loves to double down on mistake and spin it as a plan.

I am.......not shocked but....... frustrated. Don't want to say much more about this at this time.

Wow, so Jerry wants to get it right but he decided on just about the only way to get it wrong.

This is a story for now but it won't be long until it turns into a distraction.

Not only that, the difference between waiting and signing now is probably worth the value of a starting caliber veteran free agent or an extension for a current valuable player.

Yup, and it's why I was saying after the Super Bowl "chop chop Jerry". That said, this is bs from him. He's not trying to get it "right". He just wants the ratings and to be talked about.
