Hay in the barn simply means run it back. There is no other explanation needed unless it comes from Jerry. That saying can mean anything to him :muttley:

He's talking like a guy who has already broken garlic bread with McCarthy on a new contract.
With you. I think it’s already happened but won’t be announced for a few weeks so people will keep talking about it. Typical and obvious.

It’s the lazy approach that they take to everything. I don’t mind Mike but it’s clear he isn’t the answer if they are looking for the next level. Then again I don’t know who would or could be under the circumstances….and contrary to what Jerry may want to tell himself, I doubt there’s a line of up and comers who are willing to work in Dallas.

I don’t really care what they do because I can say with a very reasonable amount of certainty that whoever they hire next isn’t winning.

They need a Parcells type situation and Jerry isn’t willing to admit defeat quite yet.

Gruden eh.

Why not go for the Roger Goodell all-hate triumvirate.

Brian Flores HC, Jon Gruden OC and Matt Patricia DC.

Between the lawsuits and insulting tee-shirts that's a 20 flags a game staff if i ever saw one, games would be hilarious.

So does this mean they already know what the are going to do?
They may know the direction they want to go but it will be up to McCarthy and Zimmer if they want to return, if Jerry wants them back. I don’t believe anything is set right now. Anytime someone’s contract is up at the end of the season anything can happen.

drop this in here ....lol

The more I think about it, the issue he had with the Titan's GM may still hurt him. Think about it......as a young GM, do you want a coach you may have a power struggle with when things start going wrong?

Hay is in the barn....he has everything he needs to make a decision.

The big this is what he hasn't said.

"We'd love to have Mike back next year," like most teams when they offer a vote of confidence.

So he doesn't know what he wants, or he is playing the fans, Mike, and the media for attention, or he's hoping his indecisive stance will allow him to low-ball Big Mac. And I bet he's hoping nobody has him as a HC option.

True, like when Mike says he wants 10 million to coach the team, and another five for putting up with Jerry’s crap….or for him to stop holding court outside the locker room after games, that could blow things up.

If Mike takes that type of stance it’ll probably lead to Jerry begging Zimmer to take the job for one year, because where else are they going, and they have already admitted they “haven’t thought about it.”

Whatever this means.......
Jerry Jones said:
The hay is in the barn as far as our staff is concerned... I don't think something would happen out here Sunday that would impact where we're gonna be as we go forward.

Actually, this is the most straight-forward thing Jones has said about Mike McCarthy's status all year. Most (or practically all) readers will not have caught it for the folkism.

Jerry Translator: "All McCarthy and his staff's performance before now (e.g. hay is in the barn) has been evaluated. Nothing in this last game will change our already made decision."

Now, everyone waits for him to make it official whether McCarthy stays. Or is left to drift off into the sunset with the expiration of his contract.

They got rid of players he didn't want to get rid of. A coach should be fighting fpr.his guys.

Reading this makes me respect Jimmy Johnson all the more. Winning 2 SBs with a chance to become the first team to ever 3peat and he basically tells Jerry to go spin.

Not MM. He has no pride. He'll take the abuse like a good boy because he knows that despite all the talk, the Jones Klan is not serious about winning and will eventually pay up.

Maybe just maybe they all deserve one another. What a pity!
