this has been coming for awhile.

It's reported that he said they're not on the same page. And he just figured this out day-one of training camp????? He should have called Greg Ellis.

Maybe we can swap them Ellis for Porter?

:laugh1:

Porter, Owens, and Glenn....Witten, Fasano, empty backfield....oh my!

Or the aforementioned, sans Fasano, add JJ....Crikey!

When I seen the title, my 1st thought....trade Ellis for Porter. But in reality, we could use Ellis more than Porter. Too many WR's wanting the ball, as we need Ellis' experience on the DL more.

I saw Porter in an interview awhile back and he blasted Shell in it. I can't remember the actual comments he made but the 2 hosts of the show were tripping out on how blunt he was being.

Porter wants to be allowed to be the do whatever he wants to do dog that he is. Shell doesn't go for that. So there it is. Porter is an overrated punk with questionable hands. I'm rooting for Art to win this battle of wills.

Basically, what is his problem with Shell? I knew this wouldn't work from jump. This is comparable to Jerry hiring Campo.

Porter is a lazy bum. He's been in the doghouse with strict, disciplinarians who work their players hard. He loves coaches like Callahan and Turner, HC's who let him do whatever he wanted.

He will win it. Shell is an old school disciplinarian style coach. It's just what the Raiders need, they haven't had a hardass since Gruden. Which not coincidently was the last time they were any good. But alot of the guys that are used to doing whatever they want to have to be weeded out of the fold before that style of coaching will work.

I don't seem to remember the Raiders being a real disciplined team back in Arts first stint as coach.

in all seriousness, trading for him might not be terrible...i know right now might not be the best time to get him, but next year either TO or Glenn will be gone, he could be a nice fit.

Oh yeah, I get it. Porter can't get along with Art Shell because he's too tough on him, but he will get along great with Bill Parcells. Let's trade for him!

True. They were still leading the league in penalties most years, but then that's Raiders (with Berman voice please) football right?

Truth is I'm undecided on Shell as a coach, though he was fairly successful, but regardless that team needs to get away from the player coaches that are to approachable and get a little two-a-day happy hardass in there to get the attitudes in check.

I don't remember them being a disciplined team anytime in their History. I guess one could argue they had a resemblance of being somewhat diciplined underTom Flores.

Porter wants to get another signing bonus... and maybe rid himself of the Big Bad coach!

If Art Shell is too tough on Porter, how is he going to work with a softie like Bill Parcells.
