Hey Rice is a great player and all, but is he really the #1 player of all time?

He played for the 49ers, so you can't really trust his judgment.

#1 player doesn't account for speaking ability, either.

Sorry, that was mean, but I'm chapped over a certain NFL rushing leader being stacked back in the 20's.

In my book, yes.

I've said for years now that I think he's not only the best WR to ever play but the best football player to ever play.

I completely agree with him at #1.

Emmitt is still a better dancer.

I think Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White and John Elway were better players. Peyton Manning, too.

Not when Kevn "Pup" Smith was d'ing him up. Too bad for the achilles tear, otherwise Smith's name would be mentioned among the top CBs to play the game. Even after the tear, Kevn was decent, but they started targetting him with some BS PI calls. Jerry use to get frustrated as hell playing against him.

And the fact that Aikman was in the 80s is the height of absurdity...

he had some awful years in what should have been his PRIME. Plus he got SMOKED in 3 superbowls... come up with whatever excuse you want for him in those 3 games but he qb teams that got killed..

Can't argue against it. Teams would gameplan to stop Rice and Rice only and he'd still kill them for 200 yards. Nevermind he played when the league was more corner friendly.

Same here.

I don't think any WR can be the best player of all time.

He also won 2. Those 3 he lost his teams were clearly outmanned but he still got his team there. Elway to me is the best QB that I have seen. H

I lived in NoCal and saw a ton of Jerry games ... yeah, he's probably one of the best ever. you can argue for 1 ... for a long long time he pretty much was uncoverable.

No real argument against it... Jim Brown was my personal choice though.

yup me to for the number of years he played - he was unstopable

I put Jerry in the top ten - I mean you have to his numbers

It won't be popular but, there is no way Deion can't be in the conversation for number one. The guy shut down one side of the field by himself. I know some people don't buy the hype, but there has never and never will be a player that effected the game from a defensive standpoint as dramatically as Deion did.

In fact, he or Derrick Thomas is probably my number one. Yeah, I said it.

You gotta be kidding. I won't go so far as to say he was a one trick pony, but he was far from the best player in the history of the NFL. Not even in the conversation.

How can you argue against Rice as the greatest player of all time? Go find another player at any position who holds as many records and is so far ahead of the next closest competition.
