Be sure to read the "readers comments" some are funny.
I am going to add:
Jerry Jones: A brilliant businessman and a total zero and loser as an NFL Executive.

My question is why didn't Florio ask him: "Hey Jerry, could it be that it has become much more difficult because YOU started making all the football decisions?"

My gosh!!!!!!!!! Have all so called interviewers lost their b**ls?

I think this was just reporting on what Jerry said on radio. I dont believe Florio spoke to him. But yes, it is rare that reporters/ writers ask any tough questions these days.

He will spin all of those comments into "hey, look at the publicity I am getting! People are saying my name while they sit at their kitchen tables"

If you just read Jerry's comments, he's right. Florio's slant waters down the point a bit, but it is harder to be consistently good in a league that favors parity, and that's not an excuse for not being able to build a winner at all. But then, Jerry's not exactly saying it is.

“When you’re sitting here seeing the teams that are about where we are at 50-50 in that range, and you see the teams that right today could easily be the world champions that have records like that, then you realize how competitive it is,”

This is a huge problem with the mindset of Jerry. He's seen a couple of teams who muddled through the season go on to win the Championship and so now he thinks Dallas is good enough to do the same.

Of course, the reality is that 11 teams who had better years, played more consistent football, and had more wins didn't win it all which brings such a flimsy house of cards to ground.

Not only do you need to play far better than they have all year, you need a bunch of teams to play worse.

Great plan, Jerry.

Where's that gif I saw posted here of the guy getting up from the desk and jumping out the window, because I need that now to describe my feelings about this.

Jerry Jones:
I didn’t anticipate this league that we’re in. I’m not critical of it, but boy, is it a balanced league.”
I anticipated a parity driven league within short order back in 1994. What was the mystery of balanced league???

that was a great one. LOL. I laughed hard when I saw the man going to the window and jumping.
My all-time favorite however, is the poor Jacksonville Jaguars fan. The poor guy was stumped!

Yep, this is his new fad he is following. Why go down the road of drafting quality players, managing the salary cap properly and winning with a stout OL and DL and a good running game when you can patch an overpriced roster together with secret sauce and coaching up the bottom of the roster and hope to get hot at the end of the season and win a Super Bowl. Since I am not a GM of a football team or a football guy like Jerry, it seems like a pretty logical plan on his part....

Nicely said. And the so-so teams that got hot at the right time...I guarantee you can go through their games and find one or two substantial breaks that propelled them. I know one....the NYG were playing I believe the Cardinals. A NYG receiver made a catch, went to the ground and never was touched. He left the ball on the ground and a Cards player recovered but the ruling was "he gave himself up"..and no way did he. If it was Cards ball, they kneel 3x and the game is over and the Giants dont make the playoffs, never mind win the Super Bowl. Point is, usually these 8-8, 9-7 teams need to count on some pretty subtantial breaks or luck to advance.
